Why not try the alternatives?
I did not regret to go with more support than the Steeda spring offers.
These springs are cheap, ~$20 each, last time I checked at McMaster-Carr.

[/Thanks. I didn’t know where else to look. Do you happen to have the spring specs? I’m on vacation but could remove the Steeda spring and measure when I get back.

Awesome. Just ordered a 124 lb/in. Thanks so much!
Just a quick update in case others are following this thread. I ordered the spring mentioned above from Sodemann for $27.47 including taxes and shipping. Sodemann uses UPS as their shipper. During shipment I began receiving emails from UPS stating that I owed $69.90 in additional taxes and fees. At first I thought it was a scam but later determined that it was real.

Well, got my two $15 springs today. UPS guy knocked on the door and charged me $60 in tarrifs + broker fees.

@MiamiGT350 Why did you order from Sodemann in Denmark and not from McMaster-Carr in the US?
They sell the same springs.

For me, I decided on the 124 lb/in spring. Your table stated that the McMaster-Carr spring was “Unconfirmed” so I went to the Sodemann site first. The link redirects you to a US site so I thought I was ordering from a US division of the company. And even if it wasn’t, who would have thought it would be 250% of the total cost? (4X the spring price). From what I read we have a base 10% tariff on products from Denmark with up to an additional 50% depending on the item.

What I did was comparing the specs with best knowledge, but noone did confirm, that I did it right.
My best guess is, that McMaster-Carr and Sodemann (and Steeda) source these exact springs from the same manufacturer.

And even if it wasn’t, who would have thought it would be 250% of the total cost?
I think shipping is/was expensive (recent US de minimis shipping rules), there was an extra tariff (Trump tariffs) and the brokerage charge is insane (over here only ~$10).
So most of what you have been charged extra is due to politics. 😝

Thanks for the offer. Since getting all of the feedback about how everyone dislikes the factory spring I have decided to pursue a mid-strength spring from the list that Nightmonkey shared above.
