It’s not a salvage car, it’s a clean title. Has a whipple setup on it as well. I was really interested in it but talked him out of selling it. Not claiming all the credit for that. He had friends that had shops that could help him get it back to correct. It’s a simple repair for anyone that knows what they‘re doing. Guess he changed his mind. Only reason I‘m still not interested is having an allocation. Talking to him several times seemed like an honest decent guy.

…that, to me is a branded title all day every day, no? I don’t normally play in this sandbox, but the 2006 f350 with the 6.0 that I bought from a buddy for my 1975 F100 is that exact same scenario, and it has a bad title. I didn’t care because the F100 title is controlling for what I’m doing

Yes, I’m sure. You can reach out to him and discuss it if you’d like. I’ve literally bought hundreds of clean title “totals” over the years. His situation is a little different since it’s his car, but many “totaled” cars will keep the clean title if they stay under the threshold percentage. Here and many of the States in the South that threshold is 80-85% of value. That’s repair estimate cost. Worst part of that repair would be sourcing the specific Shelby parts needed if someone doesn’t want to purchase new.
