I received notification via CarFax there was an open recall on Skye. Checking at the NHTSA site, my VIN is associated with the recall. Reads like it was just opened/announced. What details I have, follow.

I got the same, but in the Ford app. Man that is a lot of vehicles. I wonder if the remedy will be a new pump or some other part that contributes to pump failure. I'll definitely be keeping the tank mostly full in the mean time.

I know the recall says 2021-2022, but the pump in my 2019 burned up at 7000 miles. I had been on E85 for 3 years though and I’m not sure if that was a contributing factor. I also ruptured a factory fuel line and had to replace it with all aftermarket (pump and line).

Speculation on my part...another fuel pump recall earlier this year affected a lot of Super Duty diesels. They were able to fix the issue with a PCM update. Pulling close to 1M fuel pumps is time consuming and expensive.

I'm rootin' for a PCM re-flash. :please::clap:
I don’t believe it will be that simple. One of the brushes seized up in mine. I’m gonna guess that’s the type of failures that Ford has seen.

Here’s my pump cut open for inspection after it failed.

I think my 2021 missed this one. Hopefully. Nothing in FordPass.

Nothing in my FordPass app and nothing when I plug my VIN into the NHTSA website. Thanks for the info Skye, wonder if that recall will eventually expand to cover more of the 2022 models

It says select July 21 to July 22 Mustangs which I would think your chassis number would fall under. What’s your build date?

Looks like I got right under…..first week of July. scheduled June 24th. There were parts shortages and delays galore at the time I ordered.

File this under, manufactured durring covid or just after with limited workrs and forcing production speed over quality.
Looks like forcing workers to rush and/or take short cuts is biting them and everyone else no matter the industry in the butt.
At this point, some model in fords line up will overtake the Volare as the most recalled vehicle in history.

The supply chain as a result of covid has yet
to fully recover.
I think the initial supply of parts when they started building these were pre-covid and then everyone was just scrambling for parts to complete production goals afterwards. Can’t complain about the quality of mine..it’s typically imperfect. As usual.

Mine was built in January 2020. Been solid so far, but it only has 9500 miles on it.So. time will tell.

When these were launched, I wanted to get a first run. Mostly because of Velocity Blue. I was advised by Granger, if I wanted the HP option they might kick it to a 2022. because not enough parts.
I took my VB.:thumbsup:
