What makes the Dark Horse faster than the Mach 1. I do have a Mach 1. I'm very interested in that.

You asked and you shall receive. Dark Horse is better but I’m not sure if it better for the extra money. At least it not a step backwards.

It would seem the twin T/B intake manifold and tune has made a SLIGHT straight line performance difference in spite of the weight increase.

The optional brake package is larger than the Mach 1 providing SLIGHTLY better results at higher speeds. However, if you want to run a 17-inch wheel for drag racing, you can’t.

I had to register my 350 at the local DMV. They had to inspect it for god knows what ($). The lady came out and told me to pop the hood. She spent a couple minutes looking around, then asked me if it was gas or electric. Rather than belittling her I merely responded that “it is gas, Ma’am”. Then she had to go and make a comment about the color; “Boy, it sure is orange”. I just kinda played along and told her yes, it’s pretty brightly colored. She had to then go and put a nail in her own coffin. She asks, “You gonna leave it that way?” Pretty sure my glare spoke volumes. She stopped talking.

Weird the DMV wanted to inspect it. Based on her comments not so sure she knew what to look for. Best not to call her out I'd be afraid of "failing" the inspection. Or go all in and ask if she wanted to inspect its muffler bearings...

Mach 1 all day. Not even close...gets even further apart if we talk interior. DH= Accord front end, Camaro sides/rear bumper, and Hyundai deck lid. Horrible.

The whole premise of the S650 is simply “How do we take the S550, and make it worse?”. They could have just done a refresh like 2018. Gen 4 Coyote, minimal exterior changes, good quality screen with a digital dash, better quality materials and an unlocked ECU. That’s it. It wasn’t rocket science, yet somehow they just dropped the ball.

100%. I would add if they did all you said, added a PDR and heads up option, and stopped the hop from the factory, S650 would have sold in droves. Instead they listened to some younger focus groups who had zero intention of ever buying the car.

It was modified from a S197 Mustang GT. So when ford came out with their dark horse years later I was let down when the Saleen version looks better and still does.

That's nice. Looks just like a Mustang. Was looking at the Saleen 2025s and did like the stickers they used instead of metallic badges. Those badges look good.

It starts as a ford and becomes a Saleen. The 2009 Saleen Dark Horse has 620hp.
