2015 To 2018 GT350 R Base Model Production Numbers, Facts & Figures

Earlier this year I stumbled across a VIN that seemed to indicate an additional GT350R example built for the 2015 model year and ever since then I have been attempting to gather additional information on that vehicle which happens to be a GT350R Base model.

While researching the VIN for the above 2015 Base R model, I came across 3 additional 2015 GT350R VIN's all of which seem to indicate that they all came with the optional Electronics Package.

Based on the above I suggest that for the 2015 GT350R launch model year there were a total of 41 GT350R models vehicles built of which 7 examples were Base R models.

Will continue to research and keep you posted.

It’s my first time replying here but thought it might be helpful. You might already know the color combo of F0029, but I was fortunate enough to get pics of it this summer. Vin is 1FATP8JZ6F5520029. Owned by Mike Berardi. I would have tried to get better pics had I of known how rare a base 15 R is beforehand. He also owns vin #1 of the Heritage GT500 amongst some other insane Mustangs. It was an honor to walk around his collection and take photos!

Here are some additional information with respect to the 2015 Base R models that is hopefully helpful to you.

F0004 - Deep Impact Blue w/White OTT stripes & now owned by Lynn Park (Mr. Cobra) see photo attached
F0008 - Magnetic w/Black OTT stripes
F0011 - Magnetic w/Blue OTT stripes
F0012 - Shadow Black w/Black OTT stripes
F0029 - Oxford White w/Blue OTT stripes and thanks to @vnumos.gt350 for posting pictures!

Also wanted to also mention that sometime ago I accidentally came across another 2015 GT350R Base model while reviewing some VIN's as it is easy to determine a GT350R by the VIN for the first 3 model years which unfortunately changed for the 2018 MY.

It has taken some time to research that vehicle which looks to be a 2015 pre-production model that was assembled in May 2015 therefore may be the earliest Base R model produced?

Based on my findings this was a Race Red Base R model with no Painted Black roof.

Still researching as to whether a chassis number was assigned to that vehicle and if so whether it was a TT, PP or MP unit?

I should mention that this journey has led me to an additional 3 Electronic Package GT350R examples for the launch 2015 model year and starting to research those additional units as well.

Once more information is available regarding what looks to be 4 pre-production 2015 GT350R models including a Race Red Base R model I will bring you up to speed.

I feel somewhat confident that the total number of Shelby GT350R Base Models may officially be revised from 135 units to 136 units and that the official number of 2015 Shelby GT350R models may change from a total of 37 examples to a total of 41 vehicles?

Should also mention that I came across an additional 4 four-seat 2015 GT350 units with 3 of them coming with the Technology Package along with 1 example coming with the Track Package option.

With that being the case, I suggest that the FRAP may have built a total of 145 Shelby GT350/R models for the 2015 launch model year compared to the original official number of 137 vehicles after including these 8 pre-production GT350/R units?
