How to update sync 3 for 8” screen upgrade ?

So I purchased this 2021 GT it is the base model but the previous owner I believe upgraded the 4inch screen to the 8in off a premium vehicle I am unaware of the year it came from.

I don’t think the previous owner really knew what he was doing or didn’t have enough time to finish it before I got the car because the drive modes and hazards weren’t programmed, I fixed it my self in forscan.

it is currently sync 3.0 build 1726
I have tried updating through the screen but it does not seem to work, I can access my WiFi but I’m not sure why it won’t update automatically,

is there a way I can update the software my self?

That is a years old version. The only way to update to the latest is through 3rd party supplier Cyanlabs. The good news is that they are reliably and it’s easy to do.

Cyanlabs totally works. Not only did I update Sync for the Mustang, I updated it for my Lincoln as well.

I would not be surprised if somebody on this forum has encountered this or a similar issue. Creating a thread with that exact sentence as the subject would get more eyeballs on it...
