Foster SC Whine Mod (Gen 3 Roush 2650)

Hello all, recently purchased and installed the foster whine mod for the roush tvs 2650 on the 2018-2023 5.0s. So far I'm not completely happy due to the amount of hissing/air intake noise being extremely audible and overbearing, especially when just cruising and not in boost, tried the 1-3 glove method and it did make it somewhat bearable but in exchange the whine is barely heard anymore, the only time I can get the whine to be good is if I remove the cap completely but then the air hissing sound is at its worst. Also, the volume and clarity of the whine is not super good compared to everyone else's ive seen all over youtube and reviews. I just can't get mine to be like eveyrone else's, no whine can be hard either when coming from a stop from 3-4k rpm. Any ways on reducing the hiss/air compressor nozzle like sound while keeping the whine at its most audible?

I'm not a fan of amplified vacuum noises either. A layer of 2" masking tape helped me get the note I was looking for on my setup (#55, #112). Foster recommended adding a cotton ball under the tape. Have not tried this.

Did you install it in the inlet tube or the Roush air box?
Air box install is quieter. I liked this option but it's too quiet for aftermarket exhausts.

The cabin endcap is a must use. You could suck up debris from the footwell if you run without it.

Best sound transfer occurs when the clear membrane in the cap is tightly stretched. Super loose results kazoo sounds. The membrane can lose tension during the install or when ambient temps change. Hit the clear membrane with a hairdryer or light heat from heat gun for a few seconds.

It should NOT look like the pic below. There should be no wrinkles. Should feel instant tension when you boop it.

I installed mine through the air inlet per the instructions, got it in the exact spot. I’ll take a look at the membrane and put the cap back on. So just put a single layer of the making tape over the cap? No gloves or foam? Also I’m not sure but whenever I put the cap back on, idk if it’s seated all the way correctly or not

do you also have a clip on how yours sounds like?

Whine is inefficiency for a supercharger. More whine, more inefficiency. The superchargers nowadays are so efficient that the whine is pretty much nonexistent, and the Foster SC mod may help but in order to do so there are the hissing sounds that must come with the increased supercharger sound.
