Yes it's paid off and the warranty is transferrable and refundable at a pro-rated basis so I'm going to take the plunge and get it for piece mind. I can also get 0% for 24 months to lessen the pain.If it's paid off and you intend to keep it a few more years. and the warranty is transferrable....then yes, get it long as it covers major repairs.
Get the extended warrantyMy warranty finally ran out last week while my car was in the shop getting the intake manifold replaced which was the last major part of my old engine in the car. Since I bought the car at 1,800 miles it's had an engine replaced, 3 a/c compressors, and exhaust manifold, and numerous other small things I can't recall right now repaired in the 6 years and 37,000 miles of ownership.
My conundrum; I can get a 6 year 40,000 mile Ford used premium care warranty for $5,480 (I live in California so I can't use Ziegler or Granger or even Ford) and that is the best quote I've received from a dealer so far. I know this a stupid question to ask considering all the work I've had done on the car so far but I have to for my own peace of mind, is it worth it?
I have Endurance but i believe you can only purchase through a dealership in California. I seem to remember reaching out to them for my wife's Audi and not being able to get it or it being stupid expensive.6 Year 40,000 mile Premium care plan for a car that is OUT of warranty the best quote I got in Cali was $5,840.
My wife has Car Shield, Mother in law Endurance, and I have ESP. It’s night and day difference. Car Shield will try and deflect doing any repairs due to their fine print language…any worn joint damaged by a leaky seal is not covered, although, it says seals are covered. WTFO! My mother in law uses Endurance and has used them twice with no problems. ESP has been a blessing for me, road side assistance due to flat tire, burned alternator wires, transmission, etc.I have Endurance but i believe you can only purchase through a dealership in California. I got 7 year 125k miles ($100 deductable) for dirt cheap but this is back in 2020 when they all thought we were going to die.
I still have 2 years or 100k miles left. (whichever comes first? lol)
Be aware that if your ESP expires before you renew, you’ll have to get your car inspected by a third-party or a Ford dealership at your cost. However, if you renew it before your ESP expires, it will not be necessary. I know this because I let my ESP expire in November, and now before I can renew to a new ESP, I have to get it inspected at my cost. When my warranty expired on my 2018 GT350, I purchased an ESP to extend mine for another 4 years. It gave me a great peace of mind, but I never had to use it.
During the height of the pandemic, I sold the car for a $13K profit. It was purchased by a dealer who did not care about the ESP and since I had never used it, I was able to get a sizable refund. When the warranty expires on my new car, I will buy an extended warranty again.
