I ordered on Jan 2nd. I can't get the order number to track in COTUS let along a VIN. Maybe I am not asking the dealer the right questions and the COTUS threads a so large I don't have time to read all of it to be come educated. Could it be because the dealer can't even put the order in yet? Any insight?

If it's not in COTUS it's probably not submitted yet. I'm not sure why some dealers wait to submit them... They shouldn't have too

I would agree. all I need is the order number, I have the dealer code from ford's fleet website. would the dealer have the order number as soon as he puts the order in?

Yeah they should. Mine had my order number even before I agreed to purchase the car which was a bit stange. He had the vehicle order sheet printed off with all of the information then asked if I wanted to submit it

I ordered on 12/11 of last month, and have not yet received any news from my dealer. The guy I ordered from has let me know several times that there is no news yet, no not even a VIN for me basically a month later. I basically ordered at a horrible time with Flat Rock going on vacation for 2 weeks.

I actually ordered on 11/22, was in COTUS on 11/24 and received a VIN on
12/4. Since then I have not received any official information. But
unofficially I have a 1/26 build date and who knows EDD.

My order was submitted December 23rd. Called Jan 6 to see if they had a VIN, no luck. It might be due to the holiday delays. The dealer informed me to check back Jan 20, which I will. Just trying to keep track to see what I need to do regarding tires. Mid to late March might might be OK to stick with the all seasons til summer, but earlier means winter tires being installed.

Yeah if you ordered after the 10th~ of DEC there is about a month delay in even getting a VIN due to the holidays, I think they will now be backed up for a bit since they did not build a single car for two weeks. Hopefully everyone will get the VIN numbers within the next week or two.

Not exactly correct, I ordered December 15th and was given my VIN on December 22nd

I ordered mine on Dec 15th and it showed up in COTUS on the 16th. I got a VIN on the 18th, but haven't got a build date yet. Hopefully next week I'll get a build date, fingers crossed.

I ordered November 17, got a VIN and build week of 1/5 the next day. My build date was yesterday, 22 days remaining. Oh the wait! It's killing me!

The popular method would be going to http://www.cotus.ford.com and typing in your order number and your dealers number (can be found on the order confirmation that you should've gotten) then presto. Cotus apparently wasn't intended for consumer use so to get the most reliable information it's probably best to just talk to the dealer

Once you get a VIN you should get a build date. It might not show up on COTUS but if you call the dealer they should have that information in their systems... or so I've read
