Here’s an old thread on changing to a BMR. What made me think about the k frame was the comment by a poster they tightened something by the firewall and it went away. It’s easy to check and retorque. The one thing I will say to that is don’t use a 3/8’s setup. Use a 1/2” setup and a ratchet with some length. And if you use any type of swivel or extension that changes the torque value.

next time I have the car up in the air I ll look at the k frame bolts. if anyone else get s a chance I d check on that if this bothers you. I don t have a metal picture of the mounting as I ve only been under there once.

I’m not sure what your deal is but it doesn’t matter to me. Check the k member, don’t check the k member. I’ve got thousands of hours on a rack, can’t even say how many cars I’ve sectioned and put back together. Not one has ever left a shop I owned with a suspension noise. You stated repeatedly the majority of these cars have this issue. Funny, none of mine have had this issue. Every mustang I have with the exception of my 500 has had the entire suspension out of them, including my R. Actually every vehicle I’ve owned with the exception of my service vehicles have had the suspensions out of them. Almost all from new or less then a few hundred miles. Fix your car, don‘t fix your car, makes no difference to me. One thing is for sure, sitting around typing responses has zero effect in remedying the issue. At some point you put a vehicle on a lift and start going through it mythodically until the issue is found.

The poster was the OP and please read this msg as this was addressed already as the issue wasn't paid attention to after the "repair" and CANNOT be confirmed fixed by the OP:

I dont have a deal, so please stop trying to start something that doesn't need to be started. I'm glad you dont have the issue, but I am not the only one that does and its not only 1 model year. I only pointed it out as not to suggest something based on a non-confirmed fix thats all.

I do owe you 1 apology thought I mis-spoke when I said "the "OP" stated" you were right when you said some poster, which was a woman member Sonia, but I stand by the second response as it was already clarified that the attempted fix was not confirmed (which again points to the reply I pointed to) due to the fact that she suspected it was fixed and turned the radio up and didnt pay attention after the attempted fix.

Thank you, so can I just put force on all the bolts or do I need torque values ?

I haven t yet been under the car to check out k frame bolts but noticed that only the first drive (after that is doesn t make the sound). When I push the steering wheel it makes the pop sound?? On the second push I get nothing. The wheel feels tight. The mystery continues.

Hello. Let us know the results when you retorque those bolts. If you need exact torque specs I do have the service manual in case you need that information for a specific bolt.

yes I do need specs but someone said you may have to go past the specs.... Not being too concerned I ll look next time the car is on jacks. Thanks.
Although what I just posted would probabaly not be the k frame.
Maybe the pop is in the tilt wheel?

If this video you posted is you replicating the noise mystery then this is not it, also I do not know if a GT has the same issue as the 350 and 500. But if you want to try and replicated the noise mystery, the car must be driven.

What you did in the video will do nothing on the GT500.

Just want to be clear for everyone, if that wasn't the purpose of the video, then apologies, but I would ask what was?

not my original noise ( I just posted) but I thought it interesting and noticed that same small pop. you might be correct that we are chasing different issues too.

Which is why I brought it up, the issue is clear and all these "other issues" should not be misconstrued into thinking its the same thing, with the GT500 & 350 the issue clearly occurs when in drive mode, it does not occur in park mode with the engine turned off.

For your issue you may want to refer to this:

I am the one who said they tightened something at the firewall, it did not work. Took it back to the shop they replaced the struts and got it back and it still does it, it's currently back in the shop and Ford says since the dealership can't duplicate the noise there's nothing they can do about it. I'm waiting for the dealership to let me know when they want me to come get it, I've sent Ford videos and still no help from them. Big mistake trading my 2018 GT in on this shit, I turned 40 that December and bam midlife crisis 2022 and bought a convertible 🤬🤬😡😡

Well if I were you before taking the car, I would have a ford rep or service guy SIT in the car with you and you try it and see, if it doesn't do it then fine, if it does then you can question what they were doing that they couldn't make the noise that you just did with them sitting there and give them the stink eye.

Thats what I did when I first brought this to there attention and they said it was fixed. (Again if its the same issue that I posted my video of, but none the less, you try it there before taking the car)

That's what I told them so we shall see what happens, if they don't fix it then I'm getting rid of the car.

I wont get rid of my Shelby, no chance of that, but I do have an attorney on standby in the event while I have this car something happens to the car, me or an MVA which might be due to this mystery issue that cannot be solved as it seems.
