Can either of you feel anything or is just the noise. The tone is a little different from the usual noises that come out of the front end when there’s an issue.
I think you feel a little vibration thru the pedals, and firewall areas? I think on her video it's around 5-6 seconds in?

I had my steering shaft replaced and the noise was gone for about 2-3 weeks. I remember I had changed the oil at home with the car on jack stands, went for a drive the next day and the noise was back. I don't think that had anything to do with it but it's the only thing I did with the car right before the noise was back.

There is a TSB for non Shelbys where the upper spring seat was damaged during assembly. I ended up pulling my strut anyway to see if it was damaged and it looked fine.

One big thing that I have noticed though is that when the car is hot after a long drive, the noise is gone. I went for a drive this morning and on the way back when pulling into my house, I tried to see if it would pop and nothing. I stopped at a couple places but I was out driving for at least a couple hours and it's almost 90 degrees out in here in LA today. So what could be expanding with heat?

A few months ago I also reached out to an engineer at ford who worked on the GT350 and GT500. He no longer works at Ford Performance and said he's never heard of this popping issue, but he's going to ask around and told me to get back to him. I've just been busy with other stuff but I'm going to reach out to him again and see if he talked to anybody.

One more thing...I think the noise is not coming from outside the car.

See of you can't find that TSB.

No but sometimes on my 20PP2.
I also know people who have the issue. and you may be right about the hot climate making it even less. I don t think it s in the steering shaft, I mean it should make noise just turning it then, but only when the car is rolling. Maybe that TSB on the spring?
It more bugs me that no one can figure it out than the actual occasional noise, LOL.

Attached is the TSB and a photo I found of the issue. Mine looked nothing like this.

On another forum, a GT500 apparently had a popping issue at full lock and posted this - "After a long back and forth with Ford, the dealership replaced both upper spring seats under the warranty. The technician told me the drivers side came apart while he was removing it. The passenger side had to be "manipulated" a bit to cause it to come apart for him to claim it as broken..."

Has anybody noticed if there’s a difference in if the cars that are having issue’s have the fixed plates or the adjustable plates installed.

can you inspect that strut from the top without removing it?

I know some are fixed mounting but others I know have 350/500s so that be adjustable, right?

and big assumption it s the same issue.

Yes you can feel it through the pedal a bit, but i think its reverberated sensation.

I do. It's either that or something related to the upper and lower steering shafts. Did you have this issue on your 21 Mach 1?
Its not the steering shafts mine have been replaced 5x, this has been beaten to death already. throughout the thread.

Yes you can, but as I said this could very well be reverberation that your feeling and not directly related to the firewall.

This was not checked as it doesn't apply to us, but the Strut mount bolt was checked and found to be loose and did not fit the issue, as well, in mine temp does not affect the issue, cold or hot it does it anyway.

do you think it s coming from the pedal firewall area ?
See of you can't find that TSB.
And there in lies the conundrum No one knows where its coming from, if we did it would have been fixed already and this thread would be closed.

I think I need to update the main post of what has been tried or tested and is not the issue so we stop getting the same questions of the things already tested so we dont keep answering the same things over and over.

I would assume this would have been checked, but if the k member is flexing at all it would most likely make that noise in Angels clip. I’d have to look up what the torque specs are on the k member but there are times when 90lbs has movement and say 105-110 does not. Pretty simple check, thus would think it was ruled out.

please provide some simple directions when(if) you can. Me personally will not bring mine to the dealer unless something is narrowed down after reading all the posts and parts changed that did nothing.
