Walker Ford - Clearwater Florida anyone know this Dealership?

Hi Everyone,

I've been quietly searching for a 21'-23' GT Premium Convertible for a little while and may have found something that fits the bill at Walker Ford in Clearwater Florida. I was looking for a CPO car that's stock to lightly mod and enjoy some top down cruising.

Has anyone done business with Walker Ford? If anyone has, is there a particular salesperson you would recommend? Are they reasonable with negotiating and trade it's? It's about a 3.5 hour drive from where I am in West Palm and if these folks are known as clowns, I may not waste my time.

I prefer them in the Tampa Bay area. Just bought my 2024 Explorer ST there not long ago. I take my Shelby there for service. I bought the ST from Shawna Hargett and she was great. They didn't push hard for add-ons like most dealers, they try to sell them of course but aren't pushy. I have had finance people get pissed when I have declined all the add-ons at other dealers. Walker Ford is family owned, not part of a huge corporate dealer network.

Have you called the dealership to ensure the car made it through the hurricane last week? That area got hit pretty hard so it may be a moot point and save you a long drive.

I bought my car from Elder Ford near USF and it was a great experience, not sure if you checked their used inventory or not, just throwing it out there for you.

Me and my fiance just bought a 24 Explorer XLT. Traded in her bronco sport. They gave her a lot more than I was expecting for the trade in. Signing "papers" was pretty easy they do it on this massive tablet. The finance guy Jackson was straightforward no BS so was the salesman Jake. It's her second time from buying from them and she likes them. My first time being in on a deal with them and I had no issues. I bought my mustang from Wesley chapel Ford in 2020. The pic of the Dark Horse above me is there, inside, pretty sweet looking.. interior material is kind of weird though.

Is the car you're looking for Black? I may have seen it there.

Got cha. I've lived here my entire life. Walker Ford gas always had a good reputation as far back as I can remember.

I'm starting a dialog with the sales manager in response to an introductory email he had sent me. I did have an internet sales person reach out to me via text and email yesterday. He didn't even ask if a trade in was involved. Besides, the internet salesperson has a name I'm not sure I can even pronounce.

I bought my velocity blue Mustang from them back in July of 2019. No issues. I got the price I wanted and also the price I wanted for my trade-in.

I just got off the phone with the sales manager. We had a little bit of back and forth talk and I mentioned to him what it is that I am trading in. He tells me that thereHe tells me that there is no movement of price on the car, which is a little bit discouraging to hear.

To start off a potential business relationship with the phrasing that there is no room for movement in the price is not a good way to do business IMO. This is not a rare collector car or a highly sought after special order. I would tell him when he’s serious about selling the car and negotiating on a fair price both parties agree on, give you a call.

It worked out. They offered $3500 more than CarMax and they actually are cutting me a check for $430.

I drove the car home tonight about 225 miles, all top up. Its an adjustment coming from my work car (2020 Ecoboost premium/pony package). The Mrs. was enthusiastic when I got home with the color bit she will have to see it in daylight.

I'm very much excited to start doing some mild mods and enjoying it.

I almost hate saying this but, this is the extent of my "social Media" world at the moment. Maybe I should create an account just for the car?

I've got to now make space in the garage and wash the bugs from my ride home off, and take the Mrs. for her first ride.
