I miss my royal crimson! I wish they would’ve brought that color back in 2022/2023. Had to get rid of mine because of an accident.

Every time I see a Royal Crimson, I stare at it. The other day my wife got excited when she saw one closed to our home. That color was wayyyyyy underrated.

I did a little research using Marti reports, and posted about it on the Royal Crimson Census Facebook page a couple of months ago. Here's what I put:

OK. Here's what the Marti reports came up with for total Royal Crimson production:​

Ecoboost fastback - 1664​

Ecoboost convertible - 515​

GT fastback - 1814​

GT convertible - 403​

That makes a total of 4396 for Royal Crimson production out of 90,056 total according to the Marti reports. That's just a touch under 5% total production for the year. Thanks to the people that shared their Marti reports.​

The total number of Mustangs made is pretty easy to screw up, as there are several different numbers that are presented as being the "official" number. I found the number given from a Ford media page. There is a significant difference between number of Mustangs sold in 2018 and the number of 2018 Mustangs sold. Quite a few Mustangs sold in 2018 (something over 100k) were actually 2017 Mustangs. My Mustang wasn't sold new until 2020, so who knows if they ever got it counted as a sold 2018. I've still got mine, and don't plan on getting rid of it. Next week I get to change the motor mounts, as I popped the passenger side one while downshifting coming into corner 2 at Hallett Raceway.

So lets see where this puts us. From 2015 thru 2023 a total of 818359 were sold (according to Wikipedia) and out of that 4396 were R.C's. Wow, about a 1/2 of 1% were RC/'s. Yep pretty rare indeed.

Don't think there are many R.C.'s left out there. So I figured I would post this. I won "Favorite Race Horse" award back in Oct at the Mustang by the sea down in San Diego

Picked this one up the first week in June. Found it on Carfax at a Toyota dealer in Durham, N.C.
Cleanest Carfax I had ever seen. 5,664 one-owner miles.
PP1, manual, Carbon /Alcantara interior, Magneride, Active exhaust, Nav, and "Safe and Secure" Package... Whatever that is. Marti report says it is 1 of 2. But it doesn't list the PP1, Active Ex, or Nav in the stats report.
It was obviously stored outside. LOTS of water spotting, sun damage, pollen, and sap damage.
I will probably wind up replacing the hood.

We flew down and drove it from N.C. to Michigan. Drove flawlessly.

Now 8,300 miles!! Had it in the parking lot for the Mustang Memories show at Ford WHQ today.
My wife's 2019 GT Premium 10R spoiled me! Had to find one of my own!!

So I just got the Marti report for my car.
90,056 2018 Mustangs. Of those
28,864 GT's with 5.0 V8's. Of those
11,463 6 speed manuals. Of those
653 Painted Royal Crimson. Of those
20 With CF / Alcantara interior Of those
5 with Magneride Of those
2 with Enhanced Security Package

So, at this point, is it One of Two??
Considering they did NOT include PP1, Active Exhaust or Nav...
My understanding is that the data provided by Ford (Specifically FRAP) for 2018 MY has some "Gaps". Maybe they had a systems issue? Who knows. The bottom line for me is that I need to consider any further mods in the knowledge that this is a pretty rare combination!! Now with 8300 miles on it!

Been a while since anyone posted in here...

Just a testament to how timeless and awesome this color is...

My wife was leaving a parking lot, and a guy in a Challenger entering the parking lot stopped (blocking traffic) to tell her that he didn't like Mustangs and didn't like red, but dang that is a nice car!

It is awesome. There are a lot of colours that I considered, and got this on pure, dumb luck, as there basically weren’t any cars in Ontario at the time equipped as I wanted, except mine. I think eventually I would have tired of my other thoughts (yellow and orange among them) but eight years on RC still looks great.

As well-liked as this color is, I'm really surprised that there is no "registry" for Royal Crimson!
They have them for some other colors.
And no, I would not know how to run one!!
