Too true.Packages keep costs down.
I like the way you think bud. Especially the too much crap Item. Im a minimalist kinda guy. Keep the fluff off and keep the weight lower.I am a fan of the new Mustang buuuuut:Anyways, the previous cars were kinda raw. I thought that's why people loved it but maybe I am wrong. Perhaps buyers wanted something way more refined. I wonder if there's a market for more stripped-down versions. A "5.0 LX" model of sorts. It would definitely cost considerably less.
- Packages are a horrible concept. In previous gens one could order a sleeper with the best radio. You can't get the pro audio without making the interior into a cigar lounge. The basic system not only looks like an old space shuttle but sounds like something from the 1980s.
- Spoiler Delete is at Ford employees' discretion. I've talked to several who special ordered their GTs minus the rear spoiler and they all received their cars with spoilers attached. Apparently, someone on the line feels it's a requirement.
- Not the scary monster under your bed. Right off the lot the GTs could get folks to move with its roar, not its horn. Now you rev that engine and its competing with the clicking from other drivers' texting.
- The singularity? I swear the new gen cars are sentient... if you have the key fob. Can't sneak in or out 'cause the lights are still on. It's like attaching strobe lights to a stealth fighter. (Or a bell on a cat.) Not to mention all the buttons. Sync gets turned on when I go for the horn. "I'm sorry. I don't understand 'beep-beep'." Seems like more buttons than I actually need.
- The Abyss AKA the clutch pedal. Does every Mustang since the 80s need a longer left leg to operate? Since the Fox-bodies I have had a contorted right leg and an over extended clutch leg. Maybe the Ford engineers still wear disco shoes. It's harshing my right-turn drifts. Srsly?
Doth I protest too much? (The single worst question you can ask on the Interweb.)
I have no use for memory seats, and wanted the spotter mirrors rather than the BLIS but got the 401A because of the audio system... surprisingly, the BLIS has grown on me and now I absolutely love it. I had been planning on replacing the mirror with a regular spotter-mirror but now I can't imagine doing without the BLIS.Too true.
In regard to packages though... the only thing I like on the 401A is the upgraded sound system. I don't care for the memory seats, and I prefer the blind spot mirror over the 401A's mandatory BLIS system. Most likely I'll end up passing on the stereo and taking a 400A when I'm ready.
On modern sports cars, I only do 3 mods that I can easily remove and sell.As is money spent on aftermarket additions in most cases.
