You got me leaning on driving it. Plus we can load down one other car instead of having it sent with the moving company.
Track tape or some kind of PPF on the roof and whole front clip and you should be good. Doesn’t have to be perfect if you intend to remove it when you get to FL, just get all the paint covered

I have cars transported all over the country. I use Reliable ,Montway, intercity . They never damaged anything. If it were my Mach I would transport it. Waay safer. Lots of construction going on across the country. Rock chips, stop and go traffic 100° heat. I would save the 2500 miles on the odo for fun driving. Drive one vehicle taking turns with your wife. let someone else worry about the other. Just my 2 cents

I pulled the trigger today. They upped their anti a little bit when I did it a second time. $24,800. For driving this car for so long I’m gonna take that and just run. The M1 will have a new life in Florida where there’s no emissions testing and I will make this bad boy live up to his name.

I thought about that. Just using an average of $55 per fill up times maybe 12 tanks of gas would only be about $650-$700. Much cheaper than the transport. The car only has 2000 miles on it and I’m not worried about putting the mileage on it I’m more worried about the 2500 mile trip with who knows what might happen on the highway as far as rocks and things. I’m sure I could somehow protect the front end for the drive.

100 feet of it for 30 clams 😬

EDIT for Mark saying it first…

She’s gone. The title and moniker of The Demon is now transferred to the M1. Once I get out of this horrible state I will start to mod that car. For some reason I can’t upload the video of it being driven onto the truck. Sad and happy at the same time. Sad to see it go but happy to move to Florida.

What mods do you have planned for the M1 when you get to Florida?

Because of the no emissions and that it will only have 5,000ish miles when I get there I am really thinking FI. We shall see.

Have you guys broken ground yet?

We’ve secured our lot in Ocala and we’re currently working with the builder and draftsman to get the floor plan dialed in the way we want it. Hopefully in the next month or so, we’ll have some real activity going on.

I'm very interested to see what they ask for 72K miles. If the Marti report I have is right only 101 exist in PP1.

Have you decided to drive the M1 down or are you still leaning toward shipping it?

I have decided to drive it. I’m gonna get either the nose cover that you recommended or something similar. It’ll be much cheaper than transporting it. Plus I get to get on some of these highways and test it out more.

That sounds about right. I was looking at a NFG PP1 out in Iowa shortly before I ordered my 22 GT. Back when used prices were astronomical. Someone snagged it before I could get out there to check it out otherwise I’d probably be driving that around. Had some crazy low miles for a 3 year old car, like 5k or something if I remember right.

Take the Mother Road as much as you can if possible. Some beautiful stretches out west where you’re coming from.
