I just read through the entire FRPP/Roush SC install manual. Two things that I took from it that I'd like to start a discussion are...

1. Unlike last years whipple SC install on a 2014, it does not call for the removal of the entire front end. Thats a good thing! :)

2. It does call for the removal of the STB, that will not be reused. However, to my dismay, it does call for CUTTING/MODIFING the K-Brace and this is the weird part that I do not understand, it calls for the reinstall of the chopped up K-Brace. I just don't get it! Is that for looks. The structural integrity of the remaining K-Brace will be severly compromised, hense useless.

Can you post a snap shot of what you are describing from the instructions?

I have a VMP Gen 2 on mine, and I didn't do anything like that - I did have to trim a little off of the cowl panel, but I could have gotten around that.

This could be a deal breaker for me. Removal of the STB is one thing, but than to butter knife up the K-Brace...really Roush?

Tried to copy and paste. Didn't work. Go to Roush performance, open Stage 1 SC, click on installation. It has an option to down load PDF instruction manual.
Page 13, # 15. Full discription of the butchery.

On the pp cars I would just remove it. The base cars don't have the brace.

Yah not cool. It looks like you only put the cut part back under the cowl cover and never even put the remaining piece back that goes from there to the strut tower.

I am hoping some aftermarket replacement will be fabricated to replace the stock unit for one that is moulded to fit around the intake of the supercharger. Sounds like a job for Joe from UPR or maximum motorsports or the like hint hint hint.

That's what I'll do. I would rather sell it to a non PP owner and wait for an aftermarket replacement.

After looking at the instructions, I'm thinking a centrifugal install will be more my preference. Especially since if there's no CARB certification E.O. number it will have to come off once the smog abatement period is over and I need an inspection, or if I ever sell the car inside the state.

Or... maybe I go back to Nitrous like I had on my last Mustang, a fox body in 1988. hmmm.

Respectfully...I have to disagree with the just remove it answer. The K-Brace and the strut Tower Brace are an important part of the PP handling geometry.

Like I said before...maybe removing one or the other, but not both. There has to be another answer. I think members like 89Trooper who just went through the troble of ordering the STB and the complete K-Brace, than having to paint it would agree with me. As well as member Tim Hilliard who said...

"The K-Brace likely has more function to tie the strut towers together than the Strut tower brace but in concert together eliminate all flex. The black thingy is almost completely invisible BTW."

As well as BMR Tech member that apperarently just installed the VMP without having to carve up the K-Brace. Why is that? Apperently it's a clearance issue with the rear intake feed.

It's disappointing to me because I had just made up my mind to get the FRPP/Roush SC. Now I'm reconsidering the Whipple because...well hpefully the front intake feed sould and will take care of the issue. I'm sure glad that I went through the the instruction manual prior to purchase. Now the FRPP/Roush is out for me.

I do have a question for BMR Tech...the Roush instruction manual was very detailed in the install proceedure. Does the VMP come with detailed instructions as well? I don't know your skill set for installing the SC, but I think I'd need instructions that were detailed especially for the hoses and wiring connections.

Jmeo anything you like better with the Roush over the Whipple?

When i was talking to Bob Tasca about one for my car he was steering me to the Whipple.
