My beer, he just got a taste. Supposedly helps them sweat porproperly in the summertime. Have seen it served to horses in buckets!

My beautiful boy turned 11 years old yesterday......................

He's turning into a bit of an old man now, as in going a bit deaf and enjoying extended afternoon naps. But he still likes to trot around the yard, making sure that the neighbors pussy cat is suitably barked at.

He also still eats anything he can find, including a full bag of Alan's Party Mix found at the end of my bed. Oh, and the bag of roasted cashews he trotted into the living room with it firmly in his jaw. Very cute, but also quite naughty. Wouldn't have it any other way, he's my best friend.

I would love to get him a friend to keep him company in his later years. But he's so clingy and very much the "only child" that I don't know he would appreciate it as much as I would.

When I adopted Lucy last week, the shelter warned me she was death to stuffed toys. So I bought the cheapest one I could find. It survived maybe 20 minutes. I then found one of those stiff canvas chew-proof toys. It lasted almost a full day.
