Upgraded to Sync3 on my 2015 Mustang. Went from premium 8" Sync2 ->Sync3. Primary gain is Adroid Auto/ Carplay which can work with aftermarket wireless dongle (AA wireless, etc.). Sync 3.4 adds the ability to have navigate directions repeated on the cluster screen as a "heads up" display. I do not see any heads up directions after enabling in the Apim. My understanding is that changes also must be made to the IPC. Forscan has a setting in the IPC to enable navigation RMI. The settings do not take. It gives a compatibility error. According to Forscan support, older IPC's and/or devices may not support these changes/features. Focus forums indicate it's possible to activate navigation repeater on their IPC using Forscan Mode Engineer 2, but their cars are Central Control (CC) modules and ours are not. Consequently, we don't have the same menu options in Forscan to edit the IPC.
The latest Forscan has the ability to update modules. I updated my ACM to latest firmware with no issues in about 10 minutes. Forscan (paid latest version) will read the Module ID and download the latest firmware from Ford. Has anyone attempted this on their IPC? If so, did the updated firmware allow changes in Forscan? I see options to go with an all digital dash, but that may still leave me with programming issues and I actually like the analog gauges with the small digital screen in the center.
