I'm being asked to join for an event at Laguna Seca in January or February with some Porsche guys that I have tracked with before at Fontana. One of them is a work colleague and friend. Its a full 335 mile drive to get up there, and I would obviously have to make it an entire weekend type thing.

From my knowledge of the track this will be about as demanding as it gets both for me and the car. This track is very high speed and might be too much for my car, a stock M1 non HP.

I'm not saying the M1 can't handle it, I'm more asking would I want to?

For comparison I have tracked at Fontana Roval and Willow Springs, Big Willow. How much more demanding or "harder" on the car would Laguna Seca be compared to these?

BTW I have heard that Laguna got resurfaced in 2023, unconfirmed.

Yes track was resurfaced
Big willow or street of willow?
Laguna is hard on brakes because of T2 but it’s a fun track. Your M1 would be fine
Factory pads are a question mark depending on how fast you are
Which club r u going with ?
For fontana, was the roval I imagine

Good point about the brakes, they already have two track days on them, and a canyon drive. I would change them before hitting laguna. I have never checked my alignment from the factory, so I don't know what it actually is, but for this course I would get a shop to set it for track alignment according to the specs in the Mach 1 Owners Supplemental.

I remember from my Big Willow track report thread, that another member pointed out that more negative camber would be beneficial for me. Here were my tires after Big Willow
For reference I was running 1:40 at Big Willow, and I was leaving some time on the table there.
Was running 2:04 to 2:07 at Fontana Roval.

Front camber is not adjustable without camber plates and I don’t believe that the non hp came with them
And yes, more camber is always better
Which tire sizes you have fr and rear ?

Just my two cents, from missing a lot of track days for one reason or another. One of the great tracks in the country, I would go and if you're concerned, just don't drive it like you're stealing it. You can have a lot of fun on that track, on most tracks, at 7 or even 6/10ths. Going with friends makes it from a good, to a great experience. Who knows if the opportunity presents itself again? Go, enjoy, take lots of video and take in the whole experience. Share video from you and your buddies' cars after, and swapping stories for decades, priceless.
