I've had my Mustang for exactly two weeks and had a stone crack the windshield this morning. It's about an 8 inch crack coming from the base of the windshield up in the dead center.

I've filed a claim with my insurance, but I'm concerned about 1) being able to find a replacement 2) will the replacement have all the Ford markings and logo on it?

Anyone else deal with this yet?

Someone else in either this forum, or another, had there windshield cracked. It was replaced with an OEM piece. Despite being told it had the pony logo, it did in fact have the ford logo.

Lucky me. I still have no crack and second I do have free *lifetime replacement for my Stang from the dealership.

*star because I like to see that before I believe that.

I noticed the factory is sound deadening glass. Let us know what aftermarket options there are.

I have 2 small chips in my windshield but no cracks. I need to get one of those chip repair kits.

I spoke to my insurance company and they are going to replace it with an OEM windshield. When she plugged it into the computer, she asked if I wanted the Ford Oval logo behind the mirror or the pony logo. I told her I would take the Pony logo if they had it but I suspect that's a mistake as I've only seen Ford logos. And it's my understanding that is the only place on the vehicle that says Ford.

Yeah, I am willing to bet you'll be getting Ford.

I haven't had any yet, but with the crappy roads here in Louisiana...it's just a matter of time!

Same thing happened to me about a month after taking delivery of my 2000 GT convertible. Was a lot more expensive to replace than I expected (2nd year of production that body style) and that was 14 years ago.

It all depends on your insurance and deductible (if needed). The cost will be a fixed cost set out within his policy.

Looks like I'm getting the OEM windshield installed tomorrow afternoon (with the Ford logo). Total out of pocket is $0 since I live in Florida.

I took a rock about two weeks after I bought it. It hit about 1/2" from the top of the glass. Didn't crack but left two pin sized scratches. I'm glad it didn't hit the paint of the edge of the roof.

Make sure they don't scratch the exposed edge around the windshield. There are a ton of hacks that don't belong in the auto glass business!! I would be more worried about the paint edge then anything!!

Thanks for the heads up. They are coming to my office tomorrow afternoon to replace the windshield and I intend to sit out there with them while they do it.

I was impressed that they called me back to assure me the windshield they had for me was OEM with the Ford logo behind the rear view mirror.

Sorry I beat you to it
Filled out form on geico website. Went to Safelite and got glass replaced next day. Paid $50 copay. Had ford logo despite their data saying pony. And it shows the sound deadening words as my original glass. Good luck.
