Buddy told me Saturday that my 3rd brake light was not lighting up. Yesterday I removed the interior trunk lid cover to find that
the wire connector supplying power to the 3rd brake light was hanging loose (yellow circle). Not sure how it became unplugged. The connector (male/female portions) weren't missing any tabs.
When I installed the strap handle on the trunk lid lock, I never removed the interior trunk lid cover. So I dunno.

This is where it belongs.

I plugged it back in and used a velcro strap to help take some of the stress off the wire.

I'm tagging another thread for 2015's where a similar issue to be happening, except the issue may have been in the wiring loom. But the thread was never followed up on and completed.

@MagneticMan ^Did you ever find a fix to your issue?

Hi, yeah it "was the harness, fixed under extended warranty for $50".

The fix was before the recall so if the camera acts up again I can use the recall to get it fixed again.

Is it possible that the factory forgot to plug it in,or not tight enough ?

Good questions. Bought the car new, 15k on it now. Buddy who told me about it Saturday, rode behind me the previous week, and thought it was working then.

I think it just became unplugged recently (Saturday), but I can't be certain.

I'm betting it was just never snapped all the way in from the factory and just finally wiggled loose, otherwise you'd have broken tabs.
