There is another way, kind of middle ground, which I believe @Charlemagne did. Have the hood PPF wrapped over the smooth decal edge and cut only around the inner rough patch. This way you will end up with only one "seam".
People say that would make the "mach 1" logo disappear. (I kinda regret not picking up a new manual FJG with handling package for 60k at a local dealership in February but that is a different story.)

You are right, I forgot that.

Logo can be put back on. I'm scheduled at detailer to do just that. I saw it few days ago live really up close and it looks great, identical from a meter or more.

Dropped off my car for PPF this morning. Not to beat a dead horse here but just wanted to see what y’all think about what I decided.
So they are going up to the matte part of the decal but will cut out (square) the Mach 1 logo. They put a test piece of PPF on it and once the water started drying, the logo started to disappear/blend in with the black. I don’t know if it’ll will look horrible but that’s what I’m going with.

isn't the point of PPF to cover paint, and not stickers?

Have both a gt350r and a Mach 1. Full ppf on both and the issue was the same: the decals have a thickness to them that will cause either a tiny bubble/gap at the edges, or if the PPF is cut around the decals so that a second piece of PPF can be applied to protect the decal area, a step can be felt at the seam/junction. Took each car to different, very reputable shops and they both came to the same final advice after much discussion: leave the decals without PPF. Of course one could also remove the decal, PPF the whole thing and then put a brand new decal over it, but that seemed really pointless given the rather poor to mediocre Ford paint quality.

That's probably the best, at least for non-FJG colours. Rectangular cutout would look weird imo.
I have the glossy part covered with PPF but not the matte part, it's fine but the logo mostly disappeared, so I had it made and will have it put back there next week. I saw it up close and it looks great too.

I'll be the Guinea pig for "my" variant. Just hope it doesn't look terribly weird. I thought about your version but then you'd also see the new Mach 1 lettering outline. I'm probably overthinking it. The best solution would be decals off, PPF, new decals on. Anything else is somewhat a compromise.

I took off all stickers and emblems when doing mine and then put them back on top of the PPF.

Does the “Mach 1” also disappear on FJG? I’m thinking just the matte part is what’s different.

No, it does not. See the first link in my first post in this thread.
Thanks, just wasn’t sure if it was just the matte part that was different. OP had his “Mach 1” disappear. Crazy all these differences on a simple stripe.

Had a change of heart and now the installer will leave the hood stripe alone and get up to it as closely as possible.

Anyone taken a look at stealth on a FJG? Just curious.
