I am getting ceramic tints on my Oxford Ecoboost and I can't decide between 15% tint all around or going legal with 30% fronts and 15% rears. What would you do, and why?

Not positive about the percentages but I normally get dark all the way around since they let you get away with it in Florida. This car I may do medium all the way around. Not sure yet.

I'd do 30/15...... Still enough protection during the day and if your driving at night...... Better to see surprises from further away!

How strict are police in your area? Also what color interior? A darker interior will make the tint seem darker. I had 15% in the rear before and it made things hard to see at night when backing up, not to mention we have auto dimming mirrors which should help.

Police are not too strict. Many people have gotten away with very dark tint on the drivers side, plus my seats are Ceramic.

On my Oxford White, I got:

25% on the passenger fronts
5% on the top eyebrow (lines up with the "Ford" thing line beneath the mirror)
5% on the back Window
15% on the back two windows (next to passengers)

I know it's a lot of variation, but I did it this way because:

25% is the legal limit here in Texas for the fronts
I like the dark line at the top
I like my passengers in the back (as rare as that may be) to see out the rear Windows so they can see left/right
and I wanted it dark in the back. Once I lower the car, headlights etc are going to bother the shit out of me lol

I don't have a lot of pictures yet, but here are a few (pretty big, sry for bad pics)

I'm planning on doing a photoshoot of the car this weekend since it's bone stock.

I did 15% all the way around and it looks great. Every car I've had for the past 20 years has been the same.

I live in NJ, an eastern block state, so the best I will attempt is 35% on the 2 front windows and 20 or 25 % on the backs.

Use this site to help you decide: http://tintlaws.com/

Stay legal and base your decision on where you are likely to spend significant time with the car.

It is highly unlikely you will be stopped while driving through a state on a trip. If vacationing a week or more, and you have window tint noticiably darker than local laws permit, your chances of being caught and fined are fairly certain. It's one of the base revenue streams (along with speeding tickets) for resort areas since it is unlikely someone from out of state will come back for a hearing.

If you have black interior the tint % always looks darker
Also since you said cops dont really care I would go with 15%

Well there have been reports that cops don't care while some have gotten tickets for it. So YMMV
