I have gone a little different way on trans, first this is a NA car with a well built 5.5 liter motor. it'
in and bolted up but my question is, I am trying to wire up the natural safety switch on the Hurst quarter stick. The car was a 10 speed but am a little lost on this last detail. Can someone help that has done a Turbo 400 or power glide swap?

I don’t have any help to offer for your particular set up, but just have say, this is probably the first S550 with a C4 swap.

Can you share any more details or images of your S550?

What made you go with a C4?

I will try and get some pictures up soon, It has been on all motor Coyote face book page awhile back. First as good as the 10 speeds are for a well built NA motor the torque converter technology is just not there for a true 5500 to 6000 rpm stall, also the trans brake is not really a good choice . You will brake the trans, not if but when. It's 110 pounds lighter then the 10 speed, 40 lighter then the 400, less HP to run, 1000's of them used in bracket car's stock and super car's behind big block motors, I went with a full race unit from JW. Converter was built by Circle D, a bolt together unit, and yes as fare as we know this is the first S550 with this swap. The car will run 4:88 gears

This is my 19 Mustang GT project car, 5.5 motor, C4 trans we believe this was the fastest stock motor 10 speed in the country, went 10:50@ 133.86 on a very soft 60ft. 1.50 in 1800DA air. 3420 pounds with a full 8.50 cage,

It interrupts the voltage to the starter solenoid, you can have the ignition on the starter will not turn over.

It's a simple circuit, just find the wire that goes HOT when starting, it is only hot when starting.

I don't know what the wiring looks like for the Mustang starter & solenoid so can't any closer to the exact how-to.

If you can post a picture I could be more helpful.

Thank you for that, I have looked at that and now that you point out that really all I should have to do is tie into that hot wire to the starter I think I can make that work. Thanks again.

To be clear the solenoid, not the big battery cable that drives the starter, makes sense?

@928dennis

NICE S550 and time!

Just seeing this now - hey, wild ride and best of luck with the C4 set up for sure!

I had a prior Fox 5.0 w/a built C4 in it - obviously quite a bit different tech from a Fox to an S550... which is why your thread really peaked my curiosity - mainly due to the fact that the S550 is packed full of modern electronics/modules etc... So popping in a C4 isn't just a "swap" like it used to be in a Fox or prior vehicles... LOL.

What's your control packages being used in the S550, have you gutted/bypassed a majority of the S550's "as built" electronics/modules?

If you have time to post, I'd certainly like to know more or if you can provide s build link. I don't belong to any FB or Instacrap sites.... LOL... forums is my social medium and always will be, can find anything I need/want now or 20 years from now where on FB/Instagram, it's an impossibility... :)

Thanks for responding, I got it figured out and was pretty simple. The car is running all stock in management, all we did was to reconfigure the ecm to a man trans. Then tune it as always. The Turbo 400 is getting popular for the S550 cars with a power adder so the info was already out there for the trans swap. The C4 is about 40 lighter then then 400 and takes less HP to run it. It was on a very simple change over as fare as s we swaps go. We are 110 pounds lighter then the 10R80.
