@AvalancheSVT, @gimmie11s, @TeeLew, and @vanquishvzla, it looks like you'd all benefit from just taking a break from the internet and taking your cool cars out for a drive on this Sunday afternoon lol. At the end of the day, we're all here because we have a common interest... driving cool cars. It's alright that your preferences are all different. This weird need to be so competitive in here is unnecessarily stressing you all out when the reality is your common interest could be bringing you together. Just something to think about.
This post wins for the day! No disagreement here.

I am in a similar position as the OP. I have an EB now and not sure if I’m going to order a 23 EB HPP or GT. I believe the only regrets would be cost and maybe handling. Higher up front and ongoing costs. The EB handles beautifully. Not sure how much different the GT handling would feel day in and out. I know some on here mentioned ~30mpg with their v8 but that’s on a highway in ideal conditions with cruise. Honestly that’s not how most probably drive. If MPG is a legit concern that’s probably a factor. How often I need to fill up is a bigger concern. You can have a spirited experience driving the EB without much of a mpg penalty. I would assume not so much on the v8.

Other than the power curve and ultimate power the differences between the two aren't as great as the armchair racers will lead you to believe. They are afterall the same car underneath. Don't buy into the hype, the 150 lbs weight difference is the equivalent of having a tiny passenger and you wouldn't really notice that.

If it helps at all, I came super close to getting the HPP right around the time when everything started shutting down in 2020. When they were being heavily discounted still. When the HPP was introduced, my initial thought was, adding magneride to this would be awesome, and getting the better internals from the RS would be even cooler! I ultimately didn't do it for reasons I've alluded to earlier in the thread. It was all financial; I didn't need to do it and I didn't think the extra money spent would make sense for me. Especially given how much I've loved my EB. Now, part of what has impacted my decision 2+ years later is my situation. Working in finance, there are a lot of jobs out there now that can be mostly remote for me. So I no longer have to have something that gets 30 mpgs because I no longer have the need to drive everyday. I also just moved to NC in August, the furthest south I've ever lived, and I recognize winters won't be as harsh as I've seen in the past. Even when they are, from what I'm told, everything shuts down here, so I wouldn't have to go anywhere anyway. Other things I considered included the fact that the coyote is known to be pretty reliable from what I understand, I definitely wanted a V8 even if it was going to be a 2nd car down the road, and I like the S550 more than the S650. So if there was going to be a time for me to get a new one, now is it for me. I am blessed to be in a financial position where it's feasible (despite that being the hardest part for me to come to terms with), so I went for it and put in my order. I don't know how much of this may resonate with you, but hopefully it can prove to be helpful with whatever you decide.

Check. So cost up front and ongoing is the only real concern.

Mine shows up next week hopefully. I reached a point where spending any more on the Ecoboost left me in a place where it was more cost effective to go to a Coyote. HP/$ it's cheaper after about 400HP.

Sweet, congrats! What options did you go with? (Sorry if you've listed this earlier in the thread. It's become long enough I'll admit to you that I'm being lazy right now lol).

Thanks! I sold my '17 EB premium PP and ordered a Rapid Red 401A CS/GT w/ active exhaust. What did you order?

Awesome, good choice! Rapid red is my favorite shade of red on a Mustang. I ordered a Mischievous Purple GT 301A PP w/ Magneride.

I was torn between Rapid Red and Mischievous Purple, that sounds like an awesome car, congratulations!

I think you're going to be very happy with the rapid red. My EB is ruby red and my brother had a rapid red PP2 for a minute. Both colors, especially with a ceramic coat or some kind of polish, look great in the sunlight. Thanks! Given what we've seen over the last couple years and the short MY23 schedule, I'm tempering my expectations until it's officially in production. Even still, I'm really looking forward to it.
