It's 7 unless they count spaces, then I would just do:

Sweet! Mine has been waiting for me for some time at the DMV. I got "GDYUP50" on a State Parks plate (has cool design with some yellow in it) :-) My poor attempt at photoshopping (Okay I used Paint) lol...

Yeah I got the estimate for my plates and mine are about the same as yours....ridiculous how much they charge just because it is a newer car. I guess they don't want to add any incentive to buy a new car (and pay the thousands in sales tax they also get!) :frusty: It wasn't any better when I lived in Indiana though...pretty much the same formula for calculating plate costs....
