Good morning Tom. Hope you had a good trip home. What kind of warranty do they give you when you buy a new engine like that?
So now I have a brand new gen 2 Voodoo with a 3 year powertrain warranty which is super exciting.
Yes, it was a very elitist, upper crust experience, lol (https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/fl2087-oil-filter-o-rings.175853/#post-3556951). It was a little over 9 hours of flying time from London. I had a nice seat, so that helped. The problem with that kind of seat is you wind up drinking too much wine. I dont know where you finish your Croatia experience, but ours terminated in Ravenna, IT. Lots of history there going back to the Byzantine empire with some of the coolest mosaics I've ever seen. On our way back to London, we stopped for a day in Balogna and stayed at the Grand Hotel Majestic right in the city center.Good morning Tom. Hope you had a good trip home.

I had the old non-cartridge style before.Glad you got a satisfiable outcome. Just an FYI though, the oil pump, OPG, and oil assembly in your new engine is the same as in your old one. The only oil assembly change made in the Voodoo line was in mid 2017 when they switched to the cartridge assembly.
excellent. Can you buy an extension?3/36,000
I didn’t ask, will probably come back to that at the end of the warranty. For the next 3 years I can hit the track with a lot less worries. Almost done with my break in miles.excellent. Can you buy an extension?
Good luck. I would certainly ask. Keep in mind that Ford sometimes changes the availability, cost and terms of warranties. If it is available now, Id grab it.I didn’t ask, will probably come back to that at the end of the warranty. For the next 3 years I can hit the track with a lot less worries. good point. I’ll at least ask when I go back for the break in oil change.Good luck. I would certainly ask. Keep in mind that Ford sometimes changes the availability, cost and terms of warranties. If it is available now, Id grab it.
One last point, dealers often screw up GT350 oil changes. Ask to see the oil bottles to make sure they used 5w50 and they used 10 of them. The next thing they screw up is not torque the cartridge correctly. Verify the torque yourself.good point. I’ll at least ask when I go back for the break in oil change.
I no longer have the assembly that requires specific torque and I know the tech who always does my car and he knows what to do. But I agree with your advice generally speaking. One last point, dealers often screw up GT350 oil changes. Ask to see the oil bottles to make sure they used 5w50 and they used 10 of them. Over an out.
Its a torque wrench. Try harbor freight for a cheapo version. I wouldn't trust the dealership. They don't use torque wrenches on oil filters. This is the only car that is very specific that the filter must be torqued correctly, but the techs don't bother.I no longer have the assembly that requires specific torque and I know the tech who always does my car and he knows what to do.
