I can assure you I have no idea what happened to my engine. My guess however is the oil pump failed because I lost oil pressure before I lost power. Is that conclusive? Definitely not, is it the best evidence I have, unfortunately it is.
I just don’t know what you’re trying to accomplish other than being argumentative. I said I didn’t know, but it was most likely the oil pump. I’m sorry dude but I just don’t know what you’re trying to prove.
no what I’m saying is the entire assembly changed and it’s installed differently. This happened midway through the 2017 model year and I now have the new style. So what you’re describing no longer applies to me.
Two things some readers may or may not know.
1) ford corporate doesn’t allow dealers to open up the voodoo. They can undress the engine but they can’t dig into the internals without breaking the corporate rules. Your dealer may or may not be willing to do this for you.
2) ford doesn’t supply...
I no longer have the assembly that requires specific torque and I know the tech who always does my car and he knows what to do. But I agree with your advice generally speaking.
I didn’t ask, will probably come back to that at the end of the warranty. For the next 3 years I can hit the track with a lot less worries. Almost done with my break in miles.
what I said is the cause was never conclusively determined.
I actually only thought I over-rev’d but was informed that it was technically impossible under the circumstances. I didn’t shift into a lower gear, I just clanked a shift and the software doesn’t let it over-rev when you do that...
Actually never got one. Oil looked like it had a tub of glitter poured into it and oil pump failed but in terms of a specific report or firm conclusion it’s a movie without an ending.
