Hey everyone,

I am likely beating a dead horse at this point but I have a set of GT350 wheels with the OEM Michelin PSS with 2.5/3mm of tread left that obviously need to be replaced.

Specs:

Front
19x10.5", 30mm offset, 60.5lb (with 295/35/19 stock tire)

Rear
19x11", 62mm offset, 61lb (with 305/35/19 stock tire)

My car is a base GT with Steeda progressive lowering springs and Ford PP control arms/lateral links.

I do need an alignment as the car was last aligned before the control arm/lateral link install.

For fun I threw them on the car and have been cruising with them for grocery runs and all. I have no issues with rubbing in the rear, no rubbing on front passenger, but rubbing on the outer edge of the front driver side tire.

With that said I have a few questions:

- should the GT350 wheels fit on a base GT? I expected poke but my car has some camber due to the lowering springs and they tuck nicely (and actually currently clear my struts by a hair).
-with the wheels do the GT350 sized Michelin PSS fit? Or will the GT350 wheels need smaller tires to fit a mildly lowered GT properly?
- I do have excessive toe out (based on my eyeballs and tire wear on my very low tread PSSs) on the tire that is rubbing, can that potentially cause my rubbing problem?

I am hoping on purchasing 305 35 19 replacements for the rear and 285 35 19 replacements for the front (dropping 10mm down to try and minimize rubbing). Debating on Michelin PSS or Nitto NT555 G2s for replacements. Are they comparable size wise? I know the PSS have fairly wide/beefy sidewalls, I’m concerned that if the NT555s are anymore aggressive size wise I’ll be only aggravating my rub problem.

Thanks for any insight in advance!

Gt350 has wider front fenders to cover the wheels. Can you post some pictures of your set up? May be worth looking at replacement fenders . Some give a little more room.

Sure, I’ve only got pics of the rubbing side. Yep, aware of the fenders. I’m just trying to stuff these wheels under my car for aesthetic purposes hah.

I haven’t got rubber for the wheels yet so I’m not completely married to them yet. If I can’t make them work they’ll be sold.

The angle isn’t clear but there is hardly any poke, the very edge of the wheel and stretched sidewall of the 295 PSS are the only things poking.

I’m okay with the poke, as I like the look the GT350 wheels provide. I’m debating on just getting some alignment bits for the front (plates or camber bolts) and going for -1.75 or -2 degrees of camber on both side which should draw it in enough to get it off the inner edge of the fender.

My other concern is the strut - I never considered taking a grinder/hammer to this car but if I need like 2mm of clearance it’s crossing my mind hah.

I don’t have a warranty on this car so I’m open to trying whatever to fit these things before I buy some rubber.

Ran them with no issues on my 2018 GT PP1 with 295/35 and 305/35’s.

That’s an awesome car, definitely one of my favorite colors.

Were you lowered? I am on Steeda’s progressives which are a 1ish inch drop on the front if I remember right. I have no issues anywhere except my front driver side.

Thanks! I miss that color sooooooo much.

Had no rubbing at stock height, but did have some at far suspension travel after lowering it.

The rears almost look sunken in. Fronts look nice.

I do love those wheels. Considering the mrr m350 replicas for mine. To be honest I would put some gt350 replica fenders on there and make sure I chose the ones that give 0.4” more room. I think the MP concepts ones give that sort of extra room, other brands may too. Cure the rubbing issue and look even better. How much clearance do you have to the front struts?

Got it, happy to hear I’m not alone with the rub when lowered.

To be clear this car only rubs at freeway speeds over bumps going like 70mph+.

For residential/city driving it’s perfectly fine.

They are, I don’t know if my subframe is out of wack or what but my car just swallows the 305s on the 19x11s. I’d have double check my strut clearance but I could honestly go 325 30 19 I think in the rear without thinking twice.

Edit: The fronts look great, looks very trackesque (I made that word up) and beefy without poking too much. Partially why I’m not even bothering with thinking of fender replacements.

They are awesome looking (the wheels and wider fenders), but I’m going to skip new fenders because of the nightmare of installing (and extra cost) for the small improvement in space.

They tuck nicely enough for me to not want anymore wheel well room for aesthetic reasons.

Realistically I’m thinking of going 285 35 19 on the fronts and going from there. There is just a few mm of space between the tire sidewall and strut. I can comfortably fit a finger between the actual wheel and strut though.

I’m thinking more camber, thinner tire and some hammer time (if needed) on the spring perch might be my solution to stuff these without making this a project bigger than I’d like.
