2019 Front Grill Color Change

I have the PP2 and was considering painting the front "gloss" grill to a Matte color to match the lower portion and also the splitters. Anyone do this if so post pics?

I added the Ford Performance Bullitt style upper and lower grille set. I did not like the mismatched lower portion.
Here is a pic with the fascia off, I will add more later after assembly.

I know this is the opposite of what you are looking for but maybe you will like it.

Any tips on installing the Bullitt grilles? I have a set coming for my royal crimson pp2 and will be doing the install soon.

Is it pretty straightforward? No difference between pp2 and others? You just use ramps or did you put it on a lift?

And by chromeless you're referring to the Mustang badge?

Here are better photos hopefully showing how the lower grille now matches the gloss upper grille.
Also, the upper grille no longer has “fangs”

You may have to zoom in because it seems the overcast conditions just make the grilles look like black holes.

Once you remove the 48,000 fasteners holding the front bumper cover on you now have the delightful task of releasing the 22,000 retainers holding the grilles in place. Once you grow an extra set of hands to apply pressure in opposite directions to the brittle plastic to release the grille you can snap the new one in place. That is as long as you have any patience left to push those 22,000 clips back into the fascia while keeping them all aligned simultaneously. Fail to do this and you have the honor of starting over or breaking tabs on your new $500 pieces of plastic.

I used a floor jack and jack stands. I removed the front fender liners to get them out of the way. The PP2 has an extended underbody tray that may have added a few thousand fasteners to the total.

My apologies if I sound bitter. It has only been about a month since the install and I’m still recovering.

that's about as bad as I was imagining. I did a grille replacement on an S197 many moons ago and remember the struggle. I was worried the pp2 might have additional fasteners down there. Sounds like a fun day ahead for me.

The Ford Performance Bullitt grille set does not have the chrome trim.

I had no idea FP was offering that grille. Thanks! I'm strongly considering getting it, but it looks like FP only offers it as a $530 package and obviously I don't need the lower grille.
