Woah! There will undoubtably be someone to come in and start the not worth it nonsense. But clearly the market is going up quickly on the R’s.
Am I the only one who remembers the GT owners who 5 years ago would post in the GT350 forum saying how they'd scoop up our cars once they dropped in value?

Can't believe you're parting with it Paul. You don't need luck; it'll do well.

Nope. I bought my reg 350 for under msrp, and paid over my hepr. And I have no problem admitting that. Value’s aside, I’m very glad the side of me with not paying msrp or even considering an adm lost out to the practical side that said hey dumb…

I hear you about parting with her, but with the way the prices are going on these, I felt guilty driving her……. Hopefully the new owner will take her out more often…..

This is exactly how I feel. I buy cars to drive them not sit in the garage. Right now I fear everytime I drive it that some idiot is going to collide with me and any appreciation in value is going to evaporate.

I have a Royal Crimson PP2 car I found last week that I'll be picking up next week, and after that I'll probably get even more serious about selling my HEP. A better home for her is with a collector who was the coin to sit her in the garage and wait 20 years for the real appreciation in value.

For what it's worth I would prefer a '19/'20 GT350 to an earlier R just because of the strengthened block. - which is what I did in Dec. '21, buying my 2019 GT350 for $58K w/1,900 miles in absolutely perfect condition. To be fair I didn't think it worthwhile for me to spend more for an R or a GT500 since my C7 Z06 Corvette automatic, upgraded to 710 hp, without impacting the warranty, was worth it since then I'd have one auto and one 6-speed with its fabulous very high rpm engine.

In the interest of full disclosure, I'm quite thankful to have two 1965 GT350's, one a very early model of the very small group built in Venice, prior to regular LAX production. Both concours, all original.

Just my personal considerations/rationale, and data for others to consider, that I wouldn't force anyone else to agree with. Since it's easy to forget that the "devil is always in the details", everyone's personal situation is almost always completely different from our own. That makes opinions about others, done from a distance, almost worthless.

From my perspective they were always appreciated. They were going for over MSRP for most of the time they were being sold new. I think mid 2020 to the end of 2020 was the only time you could really buy a good condition low miles GT350 or GT350R for less than MSRP.
Correct, that's why at the time I jumped on it and bought my 2019 GT350 w/1,900 miles for 58K in Dec. 2021.
