There's about 5 well known and good tuners that people usually recommend. Lund, pbd, Wengerd, aed, and the guy who does mine Luis Ortiz. There's a few others qho do them as well. I had a Bama tune for a year with no issues but others have had issues, and if you're going boosted I wouldn't use them. Ortiz does free tunes for life just have to pay the upgrade fee if you change levels.

Cool

So your saying you wouldn’t use the bama for a booster car? Can I ask how come?

If you’re spending big money on your car, I would not go cheap on tunes. Personally, I didn’t use any bama tunes, but they’re canned tunes like the other tuner devices. If you have to drive 3 or more hours to get the car right, I suggest you go that route.

Your ride your call lol.

I don't think they do boosted cars but they are more of an enhanced stock tune they leave alot of power on the table. But driveability was always smooth. once I let Luis do the tune when I put the gt350 parts on it was night and day. Between the Bama tune and his on the same mods.

oh I hear ya.. I’m just taking it all in. Have been making calls/emails.
Not afraid to spend the money where it needs to. Justtrying to decide which way, and then going back and forth in my head...ya..I’ll probably pulley it up later down the road.

So a tuner or such makes sense.

Not so familiar with the Rtd though, does it actually store it, or it’s linked to a laptop file.

Reading more, and more..Going back and forth...lol..up too late and not enough caffeine yet

The new Rtd+ I believe stores them on an app in your phone and can transmit the tunes and datalog and send to your tuner via Bluetooth no laptop needed. The sct device you get your tunes emailed to you and have to hook it up to your laptop download the tunes to the device and then install on the car. Datalogging requires laptops and not all tuners are willing to work with sct so pick your tuner before you pick your device

Thanks
I get it, but the options locally are kinda meh..

Help me out

One is in the “custom tune section” with 2 tunes
https://www.americanmuscle.com/bama-revx-tuner-by-sct-9417.html

the other , has no custom tunes it says
https://www.americanmuscle.com/bdx-tuner-1517-gt.html

Custom tunes are the canned tunes ? Generic? Or actual for my setup?

Both do the same , ability to tune the car?
This info would be great?

not sure what the difference us

is the bama/free tunes worth it for a boosted setup that won’t change much yet

If your car is boosted I would not skimp on tuner. Not so much for reliability (because I don’t know all the engine failure statistics) but more so for drivability. I’ve never had Bama but from what I read over the years, the drivability between bama and another top tuner is night and day. Plus the tuners have shops where they have cars with all kinds of set ups and applications coming in.

Been tuned by Shaun at AED for two years and no complaints. I would think if you paid thousands for a boosted set up and top performance, go with company that can get you what you paid for.

Just my two cents that may not be worth even that lol

I hear ya

The only 3 reputable tuners within 150 miles are all about the same $1k and up, but none were using my “tuner” so would still need to get whatever they like to be able to save stock tune etc..

A lot of good feedback, reading thru some old threads on here about remote tunes for boosted arts from good shops such as Lund, pbd, etc..

Which is weird for me..lol..always Been hands on with the tuning per say..

Kinda leaning towards just grabbing a BDX tuner and getting a remote tune from one of the big dogs. And going from their.

Was also thinking about a aem A/f ratio guage ...yay ?

I went for tuning with @Wengerd Performance . Great customer service and knowledge of the Coyote platform.
