CarMax has a HP car

Not necessarily the whole story. I looked at a car that Ford bought back just because the owner found a defective wheel, even though replacing the wheel would have had no basic impact on the car.

i want no part of a performance car that was repo'd after 1000 miles. if you or anyone else wants to take that opportunity to buy, have at it. there are more than enough of these cars out there that this car at msrp+ with an unknown potentially ugly history is not attractive.

Well, interesting that the Experian service that CarMax uses does not show the repossesión. In the beginning I thought it was a good deal at $62K but then I bet someone at CarMax recognized that. The rest of the CarMax inventory is just priced too high. I guess a big company, Like CarMax, is not too concerned about a quick sale since they rely more on the financing side to make profits

it's not uncommon for repos to happen 'suddenly'. the cars will have a GPS tracker that reports in every time it moves and every 1-5 min while in motion. So the repo guy knows exactly where it is. Granted if it's parked in a garage, they can't break and enter... At least not without a police presence.

I don't 'get' this line of thinking that someone who knows they are behind on their bills would ruin a new car because of their own incompetence and self-disregulation. Some piece of crap jalopy maybe. Who says they didn't just turn it in?

in general i'm very skeptical of buying used cars, particularly performance cars. i also tend not to trust people that can't pay their bills. who is more likely to inflict some abuse on a car, the guy who is pissed off that he's about to lose it to the bank or the guy who will have to pay if something breaks 6 months from now?
could this car be the most well maintained mach 1 in existence? very possible. would i advise anyone i know to take the chance, when you can call up granger ford and order a new one cheaper than this? absolutely not.

Just call Granger and see if they have any on the lot or ping people on the forums who might be looking for a change. This CarMax one is one of the shadiest I have seen in a while. Wouldn’t buy this if it sold for cheaper.

his car is a 700a with full PPF. for me the biggest thing is you could actually talk to @dethmaShine and get history on the car. with the carmax one a potential buyer has no clue what its 1000 miles were like.

Very true, I've followed him his car since he picked up the car from Iowa. Full PPF is great, but I personally won't bother with more than the front bumper. Mine is going to be a daily driver, not a show car. So, personally $3000+ for PPF is not something I'd want to pay for. The problem with customizing your car(yes, PPF is customizing) is finding someone with the same taste and budget as you.

Completely agree. Btw my PPF is also satin (therefore fully body) so not everybody wants that. Though I think its the right color change from FJG for me and Satin looks absolutely sick. The lines on the car are much better with Satin vs Glossy (unexpectedly) especially in the night.

Frankly, forget my car. FJG + Satin is a monster lock and highly recommended for everyone!
