The modern day GT350 R has a lot of heritage to live up to. Thanks for the post. Glad to see the restoration complete on the Mustang Ken Miles drove.

Holy crap did it ever touch the ground?? That's awesome!
I am going to watch those! I love AC's podcast and knew he was a huge "car guy" but didn't know he had made those documentaries.Watch “Shelby American” and the “24 Hour War” both documentaries by Adam Carolla, for some great automotive history on Ford’s racing program in the 60’s.
You will not be disappointed. Much better than the Hollywood fluff that was Ford vs Ferrari.I am going to watch those! I love AC's podcast and knew he was a huge "car guy" but didn't know he had made those documentaries.
The current car is faster. That was a race car and you can compare that to the 16 GT350R champion. The 65 was an amazing car built by amazing people and I have been lucky enough to speak to some of the builders. I also drove one of the new 65's from OVC. so impressive but the new car is so much faster in corners as it admittedly should be. It is a worthy successorCharlie Kemp ran a top speed at Daytona in 1968 184 MPH in different 65 GT 350, 289 cu in around 350hp. Grand daddy’s cousin was pretty fast compared to current GT 350R
98 was Carroll's favorite number and with this being the 60th anniversary of Shelby American you will see it used moreI gave that number tribute this last track year and I think I'm going to do the same this year too.
I was at the live Bullitt show and I thought that was insane, but this is awesome.
Yup, that was the idea.98 was Carroll's favorite number and with this being the 60th anniversary of Shelby American you will see it used more
I think its a bunch of rich collectors who trade collections In the case of the mule, it sounds like someone who wanted to maintain the history and not let it head overseasThe numbers at Mecum Kissimmee were insane - who are all these people with all this money buying automotive sculptures?
