I’m new to four wheels so I’m looking for advice. I have a base GT w black accent, my understanding is it is 19x9 or 9.5. I’d like to go a bit wider for looks, auto cross and general hooning about. Any advice for the best width/offset? I’d like to stay 19”. I will be lowering the car one inch and eventually putting a supercharger on it. When will I start needing spacers and how do I know what size I need?
Sorry for all the questions but you don’t do all this craziness on motorcycles…

(has been discussed many times).

Easy button - square set of 19x11", ET50 with 25mm slip on spacers (and longer studs) and some front camber (that you want anyway). This is if you're somewhat serious about autocrossing.

I've been going down this road for the past couple weeks, so I'm gonna watch this thread pretty closely. If you're not running the PP Brembo brakes, you're gonna have a bit more flexibility in clearance. So far, I'm pretty confident that you can run 19x9.5 with a +35 offset on all 4 corners, along with a 275 series tire and be in the clear... but I'll be paying close attention. :)

You can run 19x11 with 305 tires comfortably on all 4 corners. 275 is nothing.

Most importantly, get a good set of forged wheels - I like NES - great quality without breaking the bank (~1K/rim). Talk to them about your offsets / specs.

10x19 squared is plenty of rim with good rims and good tires.

Don't cheap-out and get cast rims.

I will definitely be running 6 piston Brembos, most likely the Bullitt kit

You should also look into the GT350 swap. Very easy and cheap (comparative with the PP/Bullitt kit) and has some inherent benefit over those in the caliper and pad design and also bigger rotors.

The sweet spot is 19x10" ET 35 with 285/35R19 tires IMHO. Very easy (boring easy) fit, nice and flush, full rotatable to all four corners. Perfect for a daily.

Yes you can go 11" on all corners, but you need camber, extended studs, and spacer on the front.

Personally I'm not a staggered guy (I don't like the understeer bias), but 10" ET35 front, 11" ET50-52 rear is a super common and popular setup with a lot of non-track rat drivers.

Or you could get $300 rims and have 12 fresh extras! Or three sets different style to match your mood!
that's what I did. I have 7 sets of wheels, gold, gray, bronze, silver, white, all flow-formed, all bought for 150-270 per. Mix of 19x9.5, 19x10, 10.5, and 11. And some in 18x10, 20x11. Yes I need to sell some...

Most are still new in box. I've settled on 19x9.5 (all-season and PS4S), 19x11 and 18x11 for track work. I have a pile of take-off Pirelli DH slicks that can fit the 11" be it 18 or 19 and Supercar3 and Cup2s aplenty to abuse.

Do you need spacers to switch from the 9.5 to the 11? If so what size? Do you have longer studs too, and presumably open lug nuts…? So many questions with four wheels…

I have 14” rotors, can I assume these require 15”??

Highly depends on the wheel offset. An 11" wide wheel with around 24-26 offset will not need spacers or longer studs or open lugs.
