Ok guys so I’m a happy woman now. @JohnnyGT and I went to the car wash and now it’s clean 😁 paint came off with some wd40 that we sprayed before going to the car wash, pressure washed helped a little but then I sprayed goo gone and we let it sit a little and pressure washed helped a lot. So yeah :)
Before and after pics 😆

Must've been that temporary paint they use when making lane shifts and construction? I think they pressure wash it off too.
I'm not the person that washes their car by hand 2x a week, but this would give me a heart attack

Thank you 🤗

@JohnnyGT sent me something similar to this too. And @shogun32 suggested something as well.

Just wanted to show my fuck up to everyone and I learned a valuable lesson - make sure you always avoid stuff on the road. 😂

Don't feel bad I did the same thing but fortunately for me it only got inside the drivers side fender wells, not down the side of the car and I was able to get most of it off with my finger nail and using a scotch brite scouring pad :frown:

Wow, that sucks. I'm glad most of it is gone.
You can try a clay towel if you want to get rid of it completely. Super, super easy to use. Just make sure the surface is really slick/soapy before using the clay towel. I bet it all comes off. I got mine from Amazon as well as the clay lube.

If interested, I can supply a link. Just let me know.

First oil change on the Mach 1 last night. Car will primarily be a track day / weekend car, and the car was delivered to the previous owner in April. I won't be driving it likely until April so I went ahead and did the change.

Car was high up on jack stands, with a big catch drain under it. I had some cardboard as a deflector as I'd heard it could be messy. I was still not prepared for the amount of travel that oil had (even with the fill cap closed). Pig rags + some shop towels and all good.

Still need to install the lower splitter extension and front wheel well extensions. Waiting for TPMS sensors on the track wheels.

Late to the party.. but next time

Try a Meguiars (or other brand) clay bar then polish... Usually clay bars lift most paint particles. Just get the surface really soapy, run clay bar over a few times - just glide it over the affected areas with minimal pressure, not forced pressure and then wash/dry/polish.

Thanks. We’re gonna do the clay bar thing tomorrow there’s a little bit left still.

@Cobra Jet, ☺ Ok

Bravo for great packing, Shelby American! Going to get these stripped down and powdercoated before going on with some new pads.

Nice.

Did you consider high temp epoxy paint instead of powder coat? Brembo only sells and recommends paint, possibly because it can withstand more heat in track use. No issue on the street or even most drivers on most tracks. Of course, if you already have powder coated fronts and want to match that.....

I've definitely considered something like the G2 epoxy-based paint, but really not pleased with the end product in terms of overall finish. I'm looking to go with a very metallic color and regardless of brushing or spraying, I haven't seen many painted Brembos that have done it well. Extensive HPDE probably isn't in the car's future.

One more.. door protectors from the big "A" (Garage Wall Protector). It's solid, thick foam and sticks to the wall like "you will never get it off again". Plus last WE my GF opened the passenger door of my former Stang while on the phone, and bang, into the wall the door went.. I was like "huh" ? She didn't even care or notice. Hence the protectors, first thing I ordered that day. 😅
Had to re-read this a few times before I realised it was not saying "Plus last WE my former GF opened the passenger door of my current Stang ..."
