When are we as a society going to realize that things are not responsible, we as humans and our choices which have consequences.
Someone should have told that Escape that before it plowed thru a parade. Maybe it identified as its cooler brother Mustang.

Why should I lose the ability to have systems and options that I use responsibly because others refuse to? Insanity.
Happens too often. I actually stopped buying cars until sanity was restored when they came with seat belts attached to the doors so idiots would have crappy safety instead of none. I was not going to give up the safety of manual belts with proper geometry.

I could have referenced another item but the political grenade would have exploded, but you got the drift.

Why do you have to use the touch screen to turn up the heat? Isn't there a dedicated switch like the one from post #102 in this thread you were referencing? I believe this switch is actually both textured and notched to be able to find easily.

I have investigated literally 100’s of automobile crashes and literally not once did someone claim they were distracted because of adjusting the heat.

I have not tried but does our car have the ability to use voice promts to adjust the climate controls?

If an adjustment needs to be made then a conscious decision on following distance and time of eyes off the road need to be considered.

One of the more ridiculous back and fourths on here. You do not like touchscreens fine. Go buy a car without one (good luck). Don't want to take your eye's off the road, fine, pull over and stop. Don't want to stop, fine, use voice commands. Don't want to use voice controls, fine, take a fucking bus.

Yea, and my eyes are not what they used to be and the fonts were fairly small, all making it worse. Some layers had to be navigated to with a rotary dial on the center consul.

It was very frustrating.
I work as a tech for BMW so I deal with idrive all the time. I also leased a mini clubman a couple years ago. The mini and bmw systems are identical besides the very mild graphical differences and one other thing. The knob used to go up and down turns opposite directions for some dumb reason between the mini and the bmw. So not only could I never fully get comfortable with my car, but now when I had to use one on a bmw I was going the wrong way there as well. Imagine the volume knob randomly choosing if left or right turned the volume up and you never knew what it was going to do next time.

I don't have touch screen in my mustang. The car I referenced was a BMW

Interesting case. Doesn't appear defense lawyers object to the blood evidence, just all the extra stuff prosecutors are asking for. Other that to possible establish who was where in a vehicle I do not understand why its relevant to the prosecution.

He has zero defense to what he did. At twice the legal blood alcohol limit and going 156 MPH in a 45 zone and killing somebody because of his reckless actions. Dude is smoked.

Its not about him or what he did. The facts are the facts. Don’t assume I have a certain position on him. I am referencing the fact that the prosecution is asking for information not relative which the defense is objecting to…X-Rays, MRI scans, CT scans and radiology records. These reflect zero when finding a BAC and again the only relevance I would see in those documents would be to determine an occupants position in the vehicle based on the vehicles design compared to the occupants injuries.

I was referring to his defense lawyers arguments to defend him (not you) ... his defense team really doesn't have anything to really defend him, except grasping at straws to say he wasn't driving the car. No way his girlfriend was driving, and if asked to testify under oath in court I'd bet she would say she wasn't driving because she wouldn't want to be the "fall girl" for an idiot and get charged for killing someone.

Absolutely zero defense and should spend the rest of his life in prison. Ya never know, money can do a lot if evil things and maybe the prosecution is preparing for that possibility.

You talking about the subject of this thread? Either way, where can I read about what you're talking about? TIA
