Swapped the fastback to winter wheels this weekend and emptied out the catch canister attached to the intake manifold after a few thousand miles.

Nice wheels for the winter setup. I'm looking to go to aftermarket wheels for my winter tires, too. Are those the 18x9s that I've seen around the internet? I am not fully up on how the wheel widths work with tires. I just bought new snow tires and I believe they are the stock size, but I thought I needed 18x8 wheels. Can I do 18x9 wheels on stock width tires? Sorry if it's a dumb question

I don't know if it's black-friday pricing or TireRack finally capitulated because they weren't selling fast enough. But if you want some 19x11 flow-formed for $169 each... I bought some 18x11 a good while ago for $110 each so there's more downside to go, perhaps.

Yah, but then you miss out on the cold starts from unheated garage! Best part of my am commute. One of these days I'll turn off my "quiet start" and let the track mode give my wife a good rumble when I leave before her.

Gotta love another member putting winter booties on their ride.

Do you do any rust treatments? I did Krown rust protection last year, not sure if I'm going to this year as well. OH salts fairly aggressively, I reckon MI does too?

I changed out my hood pins and lanyards to the GT500 push button style. I like them way better than the pins. It just looks cleaner, and wont have to worry about the lanyards, and pins scratching the hood anymore..
