So I called a local suspension shop to get a quote on installing BMR Handling Springs for Magneride and an alignment. This man calmly and collectively responded with $920 out the door. Now the question is, am I just that behind on the times or am I correct to feel that this sh*t is outrageous? :giggle::crackup:

Calls for 7.1 hours total, 2.8 front 4.3 rear. Thats from prodemand Some shops charge more per hour with customer supplied parts.

Now now. Just because it seems you can do basic mechanical work on your car, don't diss someone who questions the cost a repair shop quotes. Because that price is a rip off and I wouldn't give that shop one dollar of business. But that's just me. I spend allot, I do my own work but I am always frugal about about spending. Good Luck

The labor guide says no
Depending on the labor rate it doesn’t seem outrageous. My shop is 120hr, other shops are 100-140 in my area.
Then that price of 920 is correct. Figure at least another hour and the average shop has to add some time for unforeseen problems and a labor rate of at least 100/hr.

There's a difference between making some money off of me and straight up trying to rip me off. You as a forum member should be able to find and read that people pay around $300-$500. Not double that and surely not triple that :like:

If I remember correctly the rear subframe has to get dropped and as others have said it calls for a ton of hours in the book.
I had FP springs installed and had the dealer do them just in case I ever have issues with the magnaride I wanted it covered under warranty.
I was just as shocked by the price initially and had him show me the times lol

Book time is very generous. My Springs, STH, and axles were done in 4 hours. Shop charged me $100 an hour actual time.

I do expect that to be a dealership price, just not an independent suspension shop. I have already been quoted $400 and $450 before alignment from two other shops. Like you said, I was just shocked
