Welp, it looks like I will be picking it up on Friday, Wife had to drive her dad to the doctors this morning, this was planned, what was not planned was coming out of the office to a flat.
AAA has not got there yet, So today is out, and Tomorrow is a no-go. So Friday it is, Who has a baseball bat? So I can beat the crap out of Mr. Murphy.
Murphy's law strikes again, Hay what is another 48 hours.

Worse part is she is fighting with her dad because he wants to change the tire, and she said no. he is 85, stubborn retired marine . God help the AAA tow truck driver. Glad I'm here and not there. lol

I test drove a 2020 gtcs it was faster, but it was 49.9k plus the 5 k market adjustment. They sell it to me for 48.5k
The 2.3 hhp 330hp is not a gt but it is not slow by any standard. To get a gt with the magride and pp2 it be over 52k out the door.
Would I like the 480 hp gt, sure, but 11-14k more is hard to take , and the 330hhp 2.3t and hhp handling package limits are higher than my over the hill reflexes are.
I won't hear the exhaust most of the time as I tend to play my music when driving. So the 4 banger exhaust note isn't a deal breaker.
I have a g.m. g body with old nascar high compression 358 v8 for when I want ground pounding rump /rump/ thump/thump.
If I was to track the car a bunch maybe the gt extra cost would be worth it. but it'll be 98% street driving and the 330hp and 350ft lb will be more than enough to get me on the bad side of the law fast.

That's one reason why I went with a HPP and not a GT - price. I do wish I had the handling package though, the EB is more suited for track days rather than outright speed. Randy Probst ran a HPP with handling pack around the Willow Springs and set a time faster than some other high end cars.

I got it, for a few thousands under sticker,.
I plan on keeping it long term, for me that means 15-20+ years.
I was going to wait and get one when things simmered down, but rumor has it interest rates will have been bumped up 2 or 3 times by then, so It is either give a little more to the dealer now than I normally would without walking away, or give it to a bank in interest.

It'll like Christmas eve and being 8 years old.

How accurate was the tracker about your delivery date?

In '15 and I was 60 yo I ordered a Harley StreetBob.
Took 5 weeks to get to the dealer.
Didn't think that sucker would EVER get there..........

Now, @ 66yo, I had to wait again until the bank released the money
when I sold the Challenger to get this new Mustang.
Agonizing to say the least...........just like a young'un...............

I haven't had much chance to drive it much, I drove it a little Sunday, The ride is ok, haven't got into playing with all the settings. Drove it around in normal mode and comfort steering , been a decade+ of having a vehicle that the rear tires tramp over bumps. That will take a little getting used too. not much weight over rear tires and short sidewalls. My daily has tall sidewalls, and my G body tires have a lot more side wall, so this will take a little getting used to, but I bought it, to have fun on twisty roads. Just been over a decade since I have owned a car with short side wall, wide tires.
I will say, Pick up's look a lot bigger , taller when driving the Mustang than they do when I am in the Jeep G/C.

Yes, Finally a new car for me, not the family car, a new fun toy performance car for me. My wants took a back seat for a few decades, like it does for most , that put Family First. Wife was never like, no, you can't, she was always supportive when I'd daydream and then test drive a fun car. She was always, if you want it, get it, I just never would, Making sure the Family had what we needed was more important. 2020 made it very very clear that tomorrow may never come.

When you place a order on the build your ford website you can track it. The ford website will tell you when it's built and will tell you when it's shipped with an approximate delivery date
