I own my company.. we’re an industrial mechanical company and our Mantra is “ALWAYS LEAVE IT BETTER THEN YOU FOUND IT”. And we have the same clients for over 35 years! Quoting Apollo 13... Failure is Not An Option! We need a reboot of the service industry!
Unfortunately not many people take pride in their work any more. I own my own HVAC business and I run into poor quality customer service and workmanship from other companies on a daily basis. I haven’t advertised once in the last 10 years, and haven’t wanted for work in that time. If you care about what you do, take pride in your work, and make good on your promises to your customers, they won’t have a reason to go elsewhere.
Sorry they fouled up your car, I hope you can get it cleaned up without any permanent damage. I know I’d be furious if I were in your shoes, and mine is just a base model GT.

Thank You! I’ll get it cleaned up! My point is as much as they tout customer service, it’s not existent. They will fail! You know as well as I do, it doesn’t take long for your customers to stop believing in you if you lie to them. It’s not Rocket Science!

Sorry, I was pissing off a few guys in another topic! This is fun in the wee hours of the morning. Most are keyboard worriers!

I don’t want to talk about what I did today to my car!! What a Fu#%ing Mess! 😡😡😡👎👎👎 Over an hour under the car cleaning up someone else’s mess! 😡😡😡😡😡. Did I mention I wasn’t happy?
I thought the whole purpose of the 350R splitter was to keep Cars and Coffee victims from going under.

I had the pleasure of arranging to get a new windshield. Truck in the far right lane of a 4 lane stretch dropped a bunch of dirt and stuff when it hit a dip. I was in the far left lane and though, "I'm glad I wasn't behind him when that happened". And then saw the big rock coming toward my windshield

I thought it hit high and lifted the sun visor to check, seeing nothing I felt relieved. Then put the visor back down and caught the glint on the lower left corner. Big star break impact and cracks starting up and going across the windshield. The one going across was about a foot and half long by the time I got to the office.

I haven't even had the new Mustang a month yet.
Check with your insurance, some have free windshield replacement at no cost...

A 2017 Ecoboost. I'm guessing you do not have lane keep and all the sensor behind the windshield, right?
I'm curious what those costs these days. My Bullitt doesn't have any of that either, but I know replacements with those cameras behind them are pricey.

My '18 Accord with lane keep and all that was over $1,000 to replace windshield and recalibrate, at least per online estimates. Luckily didn't have to do it to mine.

Not to be an a*s, but did you actually mean people that worry, or "warriors?" I really am not trying to be funny, just wanted to see if I understood you right. :)

Reason I'm asking is I get quite worried behind the keyboard reading some of these forums

Yep. Botched oil change. By the time I got home, less then 5 miles I had to make sure I don’t have a fire under the hood. After that was confirmed, I let it sit overnight and cool off and picked her up on the Quickjacks and looked at what was going on. Just a complete mess that I spent an hour cleaning up then ordered WD degreaser online that’s coming tomorrow. I’ll be back under the car cleaning up the mess that never should have been on Tuesday after work.

In over 50 years I never knew that you needed to bring a fire extinguisher with you if you were going out for an oil change! Times have changed!
The absolute best way to deal with that shit - call the Dealership and demand to have a sit down meeting with the Franchise Owner. Explain what happened and how bad your experience was with their Service Center and that you would not recommend their shop if your life depended on it.

You can also leave a very negative review if you had received one of those surveys from them asking about your experience and if you would give them a "thumbs up".... Once the negative is received, it gets back to Ford Corp as well.

If you took pics of the mess, bring those to show the Franchise Owner.

I'd request a full detail at a shop of your choosing and they foot the entire cost of it, especially an undercarriage cleansing.

And yes, you can get a meeting with the Franchise Owner, I've done it in the past with 2 different Ford Dealers.

As far as DIY clean up:
Simple Green works excellent. Another way to deal with that, get Dawn Powerwash - liberally spray down the affected areas, let sit and then rinse. After using either SG or Dawn and rinsing, let car run with hood closed for a good 10 mins.

I need to update my profile I guess. I traded the 2017 and now have a 2019, with lane keeping, rain sensing wipers, the adapting cruise control, etc. So yes, an expensive windshield job. When I checked on one site it was $1,000+ because of the sensors and reprogramming.

Yup, pictures and a sit down (without going berserk right away) does wonders, actually would argue improved my "relationship" with my dealer. I'm probably that guy when I pull in they go "ah s*it, this meticulous a*s with his Bullitt is here again." If that gets me a second/more careful look at work performed, win win.

I guess you do! :)
Yup, that must be a fairly common price tag these days due to those. I'm guessing ~$400 for the windshield (since it's got the sound deadening) and rest is labor for calibrating.

@Cobra Jet do you know of a Dealer Service Issues thread in the Maintenance section? That would be a good thread to have.

I have a lengthy horror story of my own that I'd like to post. I have not yet filed it with Ford corporate. I can't decide if they will lower 16 tons onto my dealer, or if they will send me a stock letter saying "Please bring this issue up directly with your [franchisee] dealer, blah-blah." That was their reply when I responded to their email soliciting a review of my dealer experience .

Of course I complained multiple times with the service manager. I don't know if they need 16T lowered, or if they will do better in the future (because of this experience), or if a corporate complaint will only alienate them from me. Yes, I know I can go to another dealer, but this one was fine (up until now), and they are only 1.5 miles from my house!

... Need to confirm, but I think my diff mounts are torn.
... :(
I just yesterday installed gap-filling sleeves in my rear OEM bushings. Photo shows it partially inserted. (Please - no "she said" comments.) Took me about 90 minutes.
