No. Don't pretend to not know the difference. It is very easy to discuss these topics without resorting to politics.
OK, good. You just keep combing this thread for any rule breaking and please let us all know. That way you will feel more important and we will be safe from "politics" as you see it. A true win-win!

Thank you!

Let me get this straight.
Covid causes inflammation, correct?
HCQ is an anti inflammatory class drug, correct?

OK put 2 and 2 together, you can do it.
Astonishing.

Should grandma make up a good strong mustard poultice too? It's good for the roomatiz.

Basically you somehow believe that you are capable of Googling your way to knowledge of any type at the same level as people who have professional qualifications. Astonishing.
Except when people who have all the qualifications disagree with you.

Haven't actually commented on this thread for sometime but something just happened that I thought I would share.

I am 69 and pro vaccine. My wife is 68 and was super on the fence about this one. But after looking at the pros and cons (and doctors advice) she decided to get the shot. My older daughter and her husband both got their shots. My younger daughter actually contracted Covid earlier this year. She did not require hospitalization and is now doing fine with no after effects.

Now this daughter (age 42) has some health issues including severe allergies. Because of this she does not want to get vaccinated. This, of course, is very concerning to my wife and myself especially now with the Delta variant. We agreed that we would follow the advise of our doctor who we have full trust & faith in.

Well she went to the doctor yesterday and he told advised her to hold off for now. He is very concerned about side effects with her allergies. Even went so far as to advise getting the shot in a hospital if she decided to get it. He also believed that her natural immunity would offer some defense against Delta.

So as much as I still believe every healthy person should get the vaccine (with their doctors advise) I can certainly now see that there are those who shouldn't. We just need to be more understanding of the why's before we condemn, one way or the other.
Hello; Hope things turn out well for your 42 year old daughter. One good thing is she is in an age group with very high rates of good outcomes if infected. There are more clinical treatments known now and a better understanding than early on in the pandemic.

I see that at least one member here is posting for you to push the daughter to take the vaccine anyway. Do what you think best with regard to this. There is a very good chance of a good outcome without the vaccine.

I have an in-law who had decided to skip the vaccines. Her choice. We other family members leave her alone about the decision.

Good luck to all you family

WUT?

Who are these 'all-qualified' individuals who think man-made global warming is a hoax? A dried up old weatherman and some fraudulent and/or discredited article authors?

I completely support the good advice given to her by her doctor. Having had COVID she will have some immunity to it for an undetermined period. The incidence of allergic reaction to the Pfizer vaccine is very low (21 in 2 million doses) and once her allergy is better understood then she may well be able to go ahead.

Allergic Reactions Including Anaphylaxis After Receipt of the First Dose of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine — United States, December 14–23, 2020 | MMWR (cdc.gov)

A bit more info here on what causes the allergic reaction, and it is important to understand that it is usually the stuff the vaccine is delivered in, that causes the problem. These products may be present in other medicines too.

Advising individuals with allergies on their suitability for COVID-19 Vaccine Pfizer-BioNTech – SPS - Specialist Pharmacy Service – The first stop for professional medicines advice

The crucial difference here between your situation and others is that this is a rare and individual case acting on specific medical advice. It is not a blanket refusal or based on some random Googling!

Wow, what a great example of the one of the root-causes of the issues being discussed here! Too bad you can't even see it!

Good post Bikeman. I hope your daughter stays safe. I want to add one thing to this as a very young child I could not have vaccinations due to severe fever risks. Something that is often lost in this debate is one very good reason to get vaccinated is you are actually protecting those who cannot through no fault of their own.

Your family all being vaxxed are protecting her in close proximity the rest of us need to have it so she can safely go about her daily life.

It's all about relative risk. Is she going to die from anaphylaxis or complications from Covid. One is incredibly slight, the other is quite real.

From JAMA:

Continued safety monitoring of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines in the US has confirmed that anaphylaxis following vaccination is a rare event, with rates of 4.7 cases/million Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine doses administered and 2.5 cases/million Moderna vaccine doses administered, based on information through January 18, 2021. When considered in the context of morbidity and mortality from COVID-19,9 the benefits of vaccination far outweigh the risk of anaphylaxis, which is treatable.

https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2776557

We have yet to have a case of true anaphylaxis in my organization after hundreds of thousands of vaccines.

Stop trolling

You keep saying this - it has been clearly explained with data to prove it is not correct.

Thank you Jeff. As much as I try you cannot tell a 42 year old what to do. Besides we agreed to go with the doctors recommendation. Now all my wife and I can do is keep our fingers crossed. Unfortunately South Carolina is one of the states a with poorer than average vaccination rate. Cases are rising as are hospitalizations. Hope is all we have, for now.

@CJJon thank you. We had this information. But it is what it is.
