Installed my PEEPEE Radiator upgrade. What a pain in my ass. It's an easy job, except when your batch of spring clamps were made of CHYNAH's finest pot metal. I shit you not, the one holding the lower hose had the ear snap clean off before I even got close to getting it over the little catch to release it. GARBAGE. I had to carefully cut it off and then fight with the remains to get the hose off without damaging it too much. Took a few hours. The condenser tabs were also fiddly in my application, the fitting block was bumping into the bottom of the retaining tab which was not allowing me to lift the condenser high enough to release it. I had to get creative to actually get it off without breaking anything. So yeah, 0/10 experience. It's not like I'm a novice either. Oh well, at least we got to the end with some of my sanity intact.

I'll find out tomorrow what the (probably small) differences are. I don't expect to see much difference with normal driving, the thermostat regulates that for the most part. Where I DO expect to see some gains are when I'm hauling ass up a mountain pass. The stock radiator really didn't like that much, CHT struggled to hold at 225 the last time, and I've seen as high as 230's before. As long as I'm under 220 from now on I'll be satisfied. I only paid $250 for this shipped, so it was a "why not" purchase. Now I know "why not" LMAO.

Dam Ryan my experience was completely different and I even had the the A10 transmission cooler to deal with in between all that. WTF?!? with that clamp, never had one fail like that. Maybe having another set of hands was the difference with the tabs as we could work the bottom and the top at once when putting it all back together.

I can tell you after Sebring and some spirited back road driving my CHT's have been about 10 degrees cooler. Oil temps are getting to about 3/4 of the gauge and not into the yellow like they did at Daytona. It was worth the $250 IMO and after all that I hope it works out for you also!

Just admiring the effects of the 94,383,186.341 coats of wax I accidently applied this last Sunday. The light rain is running off in rivulets, not just beading.

Guess that's just my luck these days. I've never seen a spring clamp fail like that either. I'm sure the later steps would have gone smoother if I weren't already infuriated from battling that shitty clamp. Regardless I got everything bled and put back together, seems to be good so far. Good test day given it's 100F out, lol.

Dang, all the pictures I’m seeing on here lately have all been out in the rain. Thank goodness it never rains in Southern California all we do is polish the car and drive.

At least we've got plenty of water here in the southeast.

This is very true and we envy you, trust me. But that’s why I don’t drink water, I drink a lot of wine.

drove it around, got the hail damage thing scheduled, Thursday I drive up to paint wizard hazard team or whatever. I count 3-5 larger dents per panel, but a handful of tiny almost non existent ones on each panel as well, misc placed.

some dont even look like dents, but the metal isn't smooth anymore. not sure how they fix that.

Good luck with all that and I hope it turns out fantastic. I don’t think anybody has asked but do you have some pictures for us? I’ve been through hail damage in Illinois before and I just want to see what you’re going through.

I tried taking photos, but my car is dirty and honestly its hard. these are minor, not major dents. but im ocd enough to care. 500 to me to make it new again is fine. its not like some of these guys getting hit with golfballs, but when its clean, and looking, can see the random pelts. nooooo

I hear you. I’m OCD just cleaning the car. You always see something new or something you haven’t seen before and it drives me crazy.

I am concerned, because I have amazing credit, no claims history, my insurance rates are extremely fair.

I wasn't at fault, the other chic was, but im using my OWN insurances med pay (I pay for it) 25k worth, already paid 8k out for hospital and fees so far, but it shows under my claims as active, but not at fault. and when I settle w that other insurance eventually, usaa will be repaid. so I would think THAT WOULDNT AFFECT MY RATES but I could be wrong.

then this hail damage, act of god, comprehensive 500 deductible. 2 pending active claims, makes me nervous they look at it (usaa) and say, no claims to 2 active claims, hes a loose cannon and double my rates

but neither of them are my fault, so I hope usaa just brushes it off.
