I have worked with Wengerd and Ortiz on multiple customer cars and Ortiz tunes my personal vehicles. I can't recommend either one of them enough especially if you are looking for drive ability tweaks. They will both spend the time to dial in the car for WOT as well as putting around town, and everything in between. Luis Ortiz has a really interesting roll racing tune to ask about for the 6/10R80s. You go from highway cruising to race ready in just a few seconds.I appreciate all help from all people. I have sent Wengerd and Extreme Tuning asking what they can do to correct not only slow throttle response but slow transmission shifts and the dead HP spot over 5k rpm. Thank you and others for your help.
Well this certainly sounds interesting. Do you know off hand if he will tune with the SCT X4 before I contact him? Do you have this tune and how does it change its characteristics? Throttle position?I have worked with Wengerd and Ortiz on multiple customer cars and Ortiz tunes my personal vehicles. I for one am looking for the same thing as you. I have contacted Ortiz Performance and getting all of the specifics for my application now. I will definitely post the differences. Ortiz said they will tune for my specific application to my satisfaction. We Will See how this goes. Because if I cannot correct all of the things my OEM car has, I will have a hard time justifying a FI system this winter. ThanksWell this certainly sounds interesting. Seriously. From my recent experience from 2 very good tuners I have gained virtually no more actual HP from the tune since I am all stock. BUT, my throttle response is now much more responsive. So they juiced up the throttle tables which is about exactly the same thing the throttle enhancers do. So why is it great when a tuner does it but not a pedalmax?QUIT YOUR CRAP. IF ANYONE FALLS FOR THAT STUPID SHIT THEY ARE DUMBER THAN A BOX OF ROCKS AND DESERVE TO HAVE THEIR MONEY TAKEN FROM THEM.
TUNE YOUR CAR AND DO IT RIGHT OR DON'T DO IT AT ALL.
A tune is actually altering your ecu/tcm to understand and calculate for new parameters. It allows the car to do the thinking like it would from the factory. A pedal commander is creating false data and forcing it into the system hoping to achieve desired results. You are relying on some random box to force feed your car fake data.Seriously. Have you tuned a car? Do you know first hand experience that this is as easy to do as you say? I really do consider playing with HP tuners one day if this true. Can I easily adjust this then? I consider Shaun form AED as a very real tuner and here is the response he gave me a couple months ago when I planned to tune with him: "you want ‘throttle response’ for street light to street light ‘feel’. We actually do not do this, it’s FAR more complicated than most realize. Just use the sport mode"Obviously you have never worked with a real tuner or HP software.
Trans tuning and drive by wire alterations are both very much a thing within HP tuners unless you are using some shitty tuner. Which for you is probably the issue.
Like I said, get a real tuner even Lund and PBD can sensitize and desensitize the pedal. If your tuner can't they are certainly not capable of tuning an s550
But quit spewing your BS since its obvious you have no knowledge...
Honestly I've never bothered with AED. So I can't say what they are capable of. But this is a big red flag to me if a tuner is not willing to take the time to do the little adjustments to make the car retain oem driveability.Have you tuned a car? PBD sure feel and look like they did amp up the throttle but sometimes its too jumpy and other spots its just ok. I have no adjustment for this. In theory what you say sounds good to "do it right" and adjust the throttle tables but I do not think that it is easy or controllable in the sea of variables, parameters and tables in the software. Honestly the pedal enhancers are a very simple concept, have a value enter the box and a controlled different value leave the box. I'm a manufacturing engineer and in automation its done like this all the time. Turn this knob or that parameter to change the speed of a motor or the distance something moves. I just don't get the hate for the device but the endorsment when a tuner does it. Its been like this forever though.
One thing I will admit strongly, there is no way these units should be the price they are for what they are. I picked my used Pedalmax up for $125 and then sold it for $125 when I got my PBD tune. But now I'm asking them to give me stock throttle tables so I might just be looking for a used one again.
I'm basing my knowledge of what Shaun AED told me vs what you are telling me. And I'm pretty sure he is a VERY capable s550 tuner.
