So true. It seems that ever since 2008 everyone has been getting very "thin-skinned" like the guy who was President back then. Whatever happened to the values of the WWII generation who took it and kept things inside them (like the stereotype samurai mentality). Nowadays, people just lash out at every little thing and are so quick to point fingers at everyone except themselves. Long lost is the "I'm sorry, I was wrong" statements that solves so much and probably would greatly reduce the divorce rate in this country and elsewhere. Too much pride and "me, me, me" or "I, I, I". Anyway, I'm sorry for going off-topic but I had to agree with your comments. I'm sure that you and I are not the only ones who feels this way.
So Obama is the reason people are thin skinned, and lashing out saying all this on a thread about prices going up doesn’t count in your book as “people just lash out at every little thing and are so quick to point fingers at everyone except themselves.”

Being a real man today is insensitive and racist. Lol. Besides, everyone wants equality but don’t let that stop the nfl or nba from maintaining a football field or basketball court that’s 90% black.

Nowadays, us relics of men are called chauvinistic. “That woman can do that for herself... you don’t need to do that for her.” And, the gender haters are in force saying trying to neuter everyone.

Sheesh. This is why cars are going automatic... people want it all easy and not offensive. #manualtoo #savethestick
So the NFL and NBA are racist because 90% of their players are black? So they draft based on race? Yah that’s not racist statement at all

I know what you mean. Somebody's vagina got bruised over my avatar and the mod took it away.
I thought businessss were free to run themselves how they like? So if Mustang6G doesn’t like something who’s to tell them that’s is wrong, I mean unless as at it agrees with you—is that the rule?

To all of you: this is discussion about prices going up how the hell do guys get so offended to start writing this stuff and you know the common theme? You’re victims: “Obama is the reason”; “90% of the nba and nfl is black”; and “someone took my avatar”. Do what you say, get over it. Remember, you’re real men you don’t cry about it in forums where people are discussing vehicle prices.

unlike you guys, I’m not responding to anymore like this. Get back on topic or don’t write.

Sheesh... you guys... drink a beer... chill... we live in America... enjoy it... go drive your GT350 and get reinvigorated with happiness.

This is a public forum... I hate politics but it has pervaded so much of everything, including ethics on forums, gas prices, car prices, CAFE, magazines, sports... hell, even the bumpers on your car have been influenced by politics.

We’re talking about the car prices here, which will no doubt be affected by politics as well, since everything is going to a plug in the wall.

Relax.... breathe (square breathing is good)... and live!

I ordered an 2003 Cobra and thought I would keep that car forever............ nope! I only have a three car garage, so I can't make the next potential Barrett Jackson revered car collection up for auction. Times change, new cars change, and personal preferences change... who knows, in three years I may be wanting something completely different?
I bought my Cobra new in 2004 and still have it. I pay for storage and swap cars out since I also don't have enough garage spaces. lol

So the NFL and NBA are racist because 90% of their players are black? So they draft based on race? Yah that’s not racist statement at all
I guess that's the same as when the music/movie awards didn't have enough black nominees. Apparently they should have been nominated based off their race? Just saying... gotta see both sides of it.

The business provides the customer an opportunity to display an avatar. Which the customer chose to display an avatar that was viewed thru a comical lens and not a political one. The customer has displayed the avatar for MONTHS. With ZERO complaints or even a another customer reaching out in a DM to express an opinion. Suddenly the business has no sense of humor. And I think that's because another customer clearly lacks the capacity or fortitude to engage others. Instead they run to an authority figure to handle their problems. Done here.

Meh...

So, my talks with the gentleman who owns the Heritage Ford GT I posted earlier told me some interesting info that he learned through his endeavors to obtain a GT.

Apparently, the modern Ford GT is already seeing a boost in price, despite the fact that these cars are built around the purchaser, which in my opinion, would diminish what I would be willing to pay should one be for sell from a seller who was shorter and smaller in statue than me.

We’re definitely living in some interesting times as the concern for hybridization and electrification, along with the current political climate, is pushing everyone to go “net-carbon-neutral” in the next 9-14 years. Batteries aren’t cheap, and as we see with Rhodium, the price of the Pl-group of metals will increase. Costs to produce combustion/hybrid systems are still lower than electric and then, if you go all-electric, the grid supplying the electricity is still either going to be coal or nuke likely, so this is a catch-22 ordeal for sure.

Now, Ford was developing a hybrid manual transmission with Getrag and I haven’t heard the latest on that, but it could stand to reason that if a hybrid can have a manual, maybe an all-electric could as well to offer us shifter dudes some fun, despite the loss of efficiency in the system. Maybe I’m way off here but seems plausible and more fun than an overgrown golf cart.

So to be clear, you're working a political insult into your post that is supposed to be against political insults? Just trying to clarify here.

A lot of used cars in general are going up in price lately. I have cars on the lot I bought 2 months ago that the books have gone up by 20% on since then, it's insane

Back on topic, here is the next GT350R set to cross an auction block from what I can see.

https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0521-471140/2018-ford-shelby-gt350r/

Going to be fun to see what this rare spec goes for!
Terrific looking car and personally I like the LFG color but prefer it with either White stripes or no stripes as all.

Of the 10 colors offered for the 2018 MY I found it interesting that LFG was the 3rd most popular color that year and was not far off of being the 2nd most popular color.

Cool car but was wondering about the mileage on it as could not determine if that is a very low mileage car or a higher mileage car?

Based on the very early chassis number I suggest that the original owner may have had some influence with Ford at some level.

Thanks for sharing and will be fun to watch this cool R head across the auction block next month!

Pretty common spec but she looks to be a great condition. Nice to see the window sticker and supplement kit comes with the car. Good luck finding those on a dealer lot if they've been traded in. Most places I called when I was looking for mine did not have the kit, which was a instant deal breaker for me.

I'm not too familiar with bringatrialer site.... is it similar to ebay bidding? Or do bids actually matter there?

You're on target in your "plug in the wall" comment. They're trying to convince us all that "electricity" will solve ALL of our problems in the world. Gosh, I can't wait to fly across the Pacific in an EV passenger aircraft.

BaT is a good auction site. It used to be a great place to find cool deals on quirky old project cars (hence the name), but it has ballooned into a pretty premium mix. There are a few critical differences between BaT and Ebay:
1) There is no "sniping." Any bid in the last 2 minutes of the auction adds 2 minutes to the auction clock. So the buyers have to be on the site, bidding in real time. No software bots throwing in bids with a second left. This is a huge deal.

2) The cars are NOT vetted by BaT, but the commentary gets a lot of good info surfaced from the community. On most auctions, a local person goes and looks at the car and will comment on what they see. People with model-specific knowledge often chime in with praise or criticism or questions. Example, on a recent Cayenne Turbo S auction, sharp viewers noted the sound of piston slap in a video and called attention to it. An uneducated bidder might have missed that.

3) There is a 5% fee paid to BaT by the auction winner, capped at $5K (i.e., no incremental fee over $100K vehicle sale price). This makes it much cheaper than other premium auction houses, but more than Ebay.

There tends to be a "BaT tax" in that it is now well-known and there are a lot of buyers with deep pockets, but there is some incremental value in the cars being scrutinized by hundreds or thousands of eyes.

BaT is still a very strong market for older Euro cars. There are no more "good deals" on air-cooled 911s there, for example. And it's becoming a very good place to sell vintage American iron, too. For most newer cars, it is not the best venue and there have been a number of relatively soft GT350/ GT350R sales there. However now that they are out of production, that is changing and the last few BaT GT350R auctions have been pretty strong.
