And your shelby gt350 gets a combined 16mpg
My Shelby has a highway mpg of 21, and according to that chart, $1300 = 20.5-21.5.
I would wager that the chart you found has a typo... combined should have read highway.
That would also make sense that the Mach1 with 22 highway is in the $1000 bracket per that chart if the typo theory is correct.
??????????????????

I got the A10, but can you explain to me how the gas guzzler tax works? Because I keep thinking its combined MPG, but it seems like they're doing it based on highway MPG? I feel like I'm not comprehending something about this still.. 😒
This might help.......

The tax is passed along to the consumer during the vehicle sale, typically costing $1,000-$1,500. The amount is posted on the window sticker for the buyer to see beforehand. The amount varies because it depends on 1) that particular model’s combined city/highway fuel economy and 2) the number of gas-guzzling cars produced that year by that manufacturer.

Well Ira, how long till someone uses these photos to bolster their opinion in one of the "Auto vs. Manual" threads?
Funny. So Auto drivers may not be better but they are more frugal. A $1k is a $1K.

By the way the EPA indicates mileage as combined City/Highway. Been that way since 1978. The tax was, is and will always will be a joke.

All I can say is dig deep into the EPA website. It is confusing. Most folks just pay it and don't ask questions.

By the way, we had the same issue with the 19/20 Bullitt's. Some did and some didn't. And they were all M6's. Go figure.

From everything I read, that chart is accurate. And they do go by Combined MPG. Which is what I cant comprehend this. I feel like you're right. They're basing it off the highway MPG, but even on the EPA website, I found this chart, and it says they go by combined fuel economy. I mean, I'm happy I'm not paying a big ass tax, but I dont understand why I'm not paying it.

Well Ira, how long till someone uses these photos to bolster their opinion in one of the "Auto vs. Manual" threads?
I mean, I dont care about anyone's opinion on which is better, just drive what you want and leave it at that, I drive both, and for me, i have no singular preference, just depends on my mood.. I prefer autos when the roads are congested, and a manual when the roads are clear and I can have fun, but right now i am carless, since my last car was totalled. That being said, as far as automatic transmissions go.. we are saving 1000$, but we pay 1595$ for the 10A, so we still pay more overall for an A10.. and I will leave it at that.

Don't go there Zack... you're thread will go off the rails... trust me!
Do a search on the Auto v. Manual threads and get a bag of popcorn. The silliness is amazing at times...!!!!!

I've read into a few before. I still dont care about anyone's opinion on it. Just live your life and dont worry about what makes other people happy. Make yourself happy. That's the only answer needed for that debate.

I just dont see the point in wasting my energy worrying about someone elses life. And that's really the only answer needed for that debate.. worry about your own life. 😊 works for many other debates as well. That's my answer when people want to debate politics too. Lol. Pretty much a good way to live life in general.

Well said Ira....!!!!!

Most of us are here to help.
I know Rapid Red (Greg), it was not disparaging.
Greg is quite a great vault of technical knowledge... pick his brain when needed!
