Hi - This is also a nice green for $300G. I actually had some young employees at a local Staples store mistake my Bullitt in their parking lot for one of these beauties. I wasn't offended at all.. Bruce

Yup that's the color! In certain lights it does look a tad cartoonish/pastel or whatever, kind of lacks depth, but it's interesting for sure.

I like the Bullitt Green better...little more black to it but its def nice
Not sure if I see black in it, but definitely color is subjective. :) I think there's a certain richness or deepness to it that a lot of cars lack, but it also heavily depends (like other colors) on light conditions and how clean/dirty the car is.

I dont think you can get that joy there. Its great, fast and luxury car, but when i sit in Mustang and hear that sound i just have a smile on my face every single time. This is going to be my fun car and with BMW even though its great choice i feel like it would be a waste of money for 2nd car, but with GT or Mach1 i think that this will be the best toy and pure fun every fucking single day and cant wait to get it.
Last holiday I took just before Covid I decided to try the Truro car rental service. In previous years I’d rented Mustang convertibles on a few different trips, including one GT and a couple of Ecoboosts. Early March of last year I thought it would be fun to try something different and so, with Truro, I ended up with a really nice M4 convertible, previous generation.
Everything you’ve said reflects my experience.
Nice as it was, sophisticated as it was, fast as it was, the BMW just did not have have the character of a Mustang, in particular a GT.
In fact, it was my experience with rental Mustangs, humble as they may seem to some, that led me to eventually get a Bullitt.
No question the M4 is a great car. But for me it’s just not a gas to drive the way a Mustang can be.

The M4 is too big to be what you are looking for. The M2 is what you should try sometime.

SUPER interesting perspective to me, thanks for that! For me, that was kind of another point for the Mustang, just to a point still a tad raw, yet can be ruffled easily. Plus as someone who's lived in Europe until their late teens, Mustangs became an idol so of course I'd end up with one when I could afford it...

Car and Driver lists the 2018 M4 convertible’s length as 184.5 inches, it’s base curb weight as 4,055 pounds, peak net horsepower as 425, and has its torque topping out at 406 lb. ft.
It pegs the 2018 GT convertible at 188.3 inches, 3,825 pounds, 460 hp., and 420 lb-ft. of twisty.
Sounds pretty close to me, though with a power to weight advantage to the Mustang.
Certainly the M4 felt similar in size to a Mustang when I drove it.
That being said, I’d love to try an M2 someday as I have certainly heard great things about it.
But this thread is about the M4 and, frankly, my experience was that even though the previous generation version I rented was a great car it just wasn’t able to put a smile on my face the way the Mustangs did (including, yes, even the Ecoboosts).
If it had I’d be driving one now instead of a Bullitt.

I have many relatives in Germany. A friend of one of them recently bought a Bullitt and he is so nuts about it I had to mute him on IG because of the way he was clogging my feed with countless pictures and homages to his new ride.
European car reviewers also seem to love the S550 Mustangs.
Maybe it’s a case of the grass is always greener?
Or that what seems ordinary to many here is appreciated as extraordinary to just as many in a place where it is more rare?
Anyway, for me it’s visceral.
Mustangs are just damn fun.
And with the S550 being a solid and sophisticated platform they’re damn fine sports cars, too, in a way that older versions were not.

Right, all good points. I think the rarity does have to do with it for sure. I tend to trust reviewers and do extensive research, that's why I landed on '18 Accord Sport in manual and then Bullitt (or S550), both hailed by C&D which I like.

My parents (am from Czech) actually sent me a picture of a Bullitt they saw in the parking lot and told me how mean it looks and imposing and rare, which is really cool. Of course that was about 6 months after I bought mine in the US, so they knew what they were looking for.
They also got a '17 540i and '19 Rav4 hybrid, so to them the Bullitt (and generally the "impractical" 2 seater, despite it being very practical) was just a phenomenon they don't see often.

I knew that I wanted a fun sports car now as I love driving. It's funny what the age spread is for this car too (see my recent stats on the other post).

Mustang has a huge following in Europe, and the S550 with its gorgeous lines has made even more people following Mustang. My wife is from Japan, and there is quite a few Mustang lovers there as well. Unfortunately Ford pulled out of Japan, as the Japanese govt. makes it practically impossible for American car companies to compete.

The G8X cars are even bigger. The new M4 G82 is now 189.1" some 5" longer than the F82.

Damn, that's almost an inch longer than the already long Mustang.

Agreed! BMW should have given the M3, M4, 4-series, and the iX a MUCH smaller grill to begin with. I mean, already FOUR CARS in BMW's lineup (soon to be five with the new i4 electric sedan) use or will use that hideous new beaver/bug-nosed grill. It's absolutely ridiculous. My advice to BMW: Apply an emergency refresh to all of those aforementioned cars faster than Chevrolet did with the Camaro in 2019. PRONTO.

Better chance of Ford doing an emergency refresh and putting all the panels together correctly.
They flat out said they aren't changing the grill.
