Hello,

I just bought my 1st Mustang GT PP1(1st muscle car too for that matter). I’m looking at adding some bolt-ons for the 2020 gt. CAI + tune? CAI no tune? Headers and exhaust? There are soo many options. Has anyone else added mods to there 2020 recently?

light weight driveshaft and E85 tune. =]

edit: From what i heard, your stock intake works great. If i had the cash, longtubes, driveshaft, e85 tune.

I would suggest a subframe cradle brace to get that rear suspension in line.

Bmr Cb005
Steeda stop the hop kit.

more power is useless unless you can put it to the ground

Cold air intake and tune are exactly where to start. If you want to make your car actually faster and make an actual improvement in rwhp, tuning from somewhere like Lund or Palm Beach Dyno is the way to go. The CAI helps buy allowing a bit more air flow that the tuner will take advantage of. You might also consider an x-pipe resonator delete resonator-deletes-1 for a bit of flow and sound. Check out some of the power package options we offer and of course feel free to call in and ask away.

CAI + tune? CAI no tune?
Stand alone CAI - No, performance increase minimal, not worth the expense.

Pump gas tune - Worth a little but......................E85 if you want to make it worth your while.

Any tune - Consider warranty. Are you prepared to incur all repair cost "if" a warranty claim if refused?

So what are your goals for this car? What kind of money are you looking to spend? Would help if we knew these two important items.

Lastly congrats on the new car and welcome to the forum. Post some pics of your car when you have a chance.

If brand new, I would wait on tune and get some miles on er. I would do a resonator delete to start. All depends on what you plan to do with it or your driving style.

Thanks! Im not sure exactly where I want to go with it. Im just seeing what everyone else is doing. Warranty is a factor. Im guessing there may be Ford approved performance parts, maybe?

Don't tune sh*t. Keep that warranty for at least 2 years for the power train.

Upgrade handling. Verticle links, IRS bracing, improved suspension.

Bring the car to life. Once the 2 years are up, stop messing about and bolt on a supercharger.

Car looks great. OK, so until you know what you want, keep it simple.

Cosmetic - tint, PPF, maybe ceramic, pro or DYI. Maybe lowering springs to reduce the gap.

Exhaust - Do you have active exhaust? If so just a H or X pipe. If not, maybe catbacks.

Suspension - Will prepare you for power modes in the future. Chef had some good recommendations.

Power - Hell you have 460 HP. That's more than enough to get you started (or in trouble if you are so inclined). Drive it, enjoy it, learn it.

Get a PMAS with there MAF (best CAI on the market, period). No tune required. Definitely get a resonator delete as well. I prefer a H-pipe. I give @beefcake from https://www.teambeefcakeracing.com/ all my money.
Thanks. The PMAS looks like it could suck in some engine bay heat. Also, beefcake likes to sell breakfast suspensions...

Then stick with the stock box and go for Lunch @ lethal. Myself I use team beefcake official website & solved all IAT issues with my PMAS. That's just me. There's lots of closed top CAI's out there that'll be no better than your stock airbox. So, I'd just drop a K&N filter into yours. Warranty friendly.

i recently made some of these decisions.

my suggestion, if you plan on ever going forced induction, dont buy parts (like a Cold air intake) that will most likely come with those kits anyways.

i started with catback, free flowing exhaust, sway bars, lowering springs, stop the hop things, wheels and tires, a tuning the device, and then made the plunge for a supercharger, that included a throttle body, fuel rails..cold air intake, intercooler..etc.

long story short, think of what your long term goals are, and figure out the most effective way to reach that.

wheels/tires and a nice sounding exhaust are always good starting points, as well as suspension goodies. Doesnt matter how much power you make if you cant get it to the ground.
