OP - that front tire size is probably going to cause you some problems with rubbing on the inner fender liner on the back side of the fender. I run 305/30/20 Michelin PS4S tires up front and they rubbed at full lock until I did some modifications to the inner fender liner and the metal brackets behind them but honestly I am not sure that the 275/40/20 (which has a much greater diameter) can be made to fit without some surgery via cutting wheel or sawzall. A 275/35/20 would have a much better chance of fitting.

Now that I think about it, that 275/40/20 tire will probably rub the front part of the fender liner, too. It's very close on my car at full lock.

If they do, Discount Tire is on the hook for them.

Sadly, the sun did not cooperate today, thus the light is flat.

That rear fender though...
Yeah, I know. Discount Tire is on the hook. I will be back there at 08:00. The dude that did the build on their computer was off today. They are going to have to go to 10" wide wheels on the rears too.

You also need to be mindful that most State DMV laws prohibit tires from extending outside of the fender edge. Looks like your rear tires do just that. LEO's can give you an ERO (equipment repair order)ticket and you have to have them altered to comply with the law. If you don't take care of it, your registration can be suspended. Your car's handling can be adversely affected if you go too wide with the tires. Always remember that the Ford engineers knew what they were doing when they set these cars up.

Yes, I am well aware of the issues. As I said in another post, Discount Tire is on the hook as I went with what the salesperson would work based on their computer model. They are going to have to get 10" wide wheels for the rear position along with different Conti's

They really don't have much choice. :cwl: 1) They stick out to far. 2) They rub, even in sport mode.

I’d even be willing to venture that the offsets are off on the rear. It appears that even if you downsize the tire width you will still have wheel outside the well.

Were you able to check for rub on the front wheels when you turn to full lock in both directions? Just looking at the side picture, I am pretty sure it's going to rub the liners hard.

Yup ......... They are going to have to use what I have on the front, that being 10.5". If necessary, I can go to 10". As they said ti would fit and it doesn't, it's their problem to fix ! :sunglasses:

Haven't gone full lock yet. It's raining pretty hard here in Waxahachie and I don't want to push it. They are next to a Home Depot so I will give it a go when I go up there in the morning.
