As I documented here https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/cracked-r-carbon-wheel.128015/ I had a small crack in my Rs carbon rear wheel. I think it still holds air but I’m not comfortable using it on the track. It may be repairable, idk.

I’m not sure what to do with it besides hang it on the wall? Open to any suggestions, otherwise does anyone have any interest in buying it, make me a offer. It was cool bar artwork for half a year now, but I won’t miss it that much if the price is reasonable.

here are some photos, 2017 R rear wheel

I'd hang it on the wall.

I’m married with my 3rd boy due in June. My fun at clubs is over and now on the racetrack ;)

Have you contacted Spyder Composites to see if they can fix it?

I'd take a chance on it for about $500

it's repairable. I'm dealing with carbon for about 10 years. There're companies that can repair it.

I think that if the weave is broken, then no, it probably isn't repairable.

there are multiple carbon weaves. generally, you can lay one weave on other using resin to bond it. looking at the picture, I think that rim can be repaired.

A fellow composites expert—irony I just got finished demolding and putting some more parts in and under vacuum.

My thoughts are that It doesn’t look that bad, but it needs to be x-rayed/ultrasound or checked to see how far the damage goes. Being that it’s on the lip only and there are no serious chunks or major tears that are frayed, if it was me, I would send it to Spyder Composites and have it throughly checked. If they told me it’s junk, then I’d toss it.

I’ve seen worse on eBay that we’re actually non-repairable being sold as usable. This is fixable from the looks of the damage so far.
